Easiest Class? Voice your opinion!

After seeing a lot of "Your class is the easiest in game" and such things I think it is a good idea to have everyone come together and rank the classes to see how the collective community feels on the subject. I was going to do a poll but I don't think that is the way to go for this as it really only gives you insight into who the community feels is the easiest class overall to play.

I believe the best way to determine an approximate order of class difficulty is to have everyone rank their top8 easiest and top8 hardest classes to play. Then just compare the results and see where we end up. I say top8 because that would give us the upper 3rd and the lower 3rd of easiest/hardest classes. Leaving the middle 3rd (which is very hard to distinguish) open to discussion. That being said please don't fall under the impression that I am saying any class is *hard* to play. I'm merely saying some classes require more focus, awareness, etc. then other classes.

Seeing as I started this post I'll go ahead and jump in with my top8

Top 8 easiest:
1. Brigand
2. Troubador
3. Dirge
4. Templar
5. Mystic
6. Guardian
7. Inquisitor
8. Illusionist

Top 8 hardest:
1. Assassin
2. Ranger
3. Warlock
4. Swashbuckler
5. Wizard
6. Paladin
7. Coercor
8. Shadowknight

This leaves my *middle of the pack* classes being Warden, Fury, Defiler, Conjuror, Necromancer, Monk, Bruiser, Berserker.

I dunno, I really don't think any class is much harder to play than any other. There are skill positions on raids that are harder to fill than others - such as being the MT, or being a MT group healer, or the person actually running the raid itself. Outside of that, I don't think there is anything 'difficult' about it.

Saying Swash for example is difficult while Brigand is easy is way off mark. First off, Swash don't have to think for a second about aggro, its not even a concern. Brigands do, that alone makes them more difficult to play. I say that having raided extensively as both classes, btw~

Any raid tank or healer

Easiest:

Any raid DPS

I would argue that the MT group healers are one of the easier jobs in the raid. Just target the tank and heal away, where the Healers in the other groups have to swap between healing an OT, or DPS that gets hit, and know when to slam lots of heals on the tank etc.

If you had read my post more closely you'd know that I already stated no class was hard. There is however a distinction between classes regarding focus, awareness, etc.

Saying swash is more difficult then brigands is a fact. There is something called AR which you seem to not be aware of. This skill single handedly makes brigands the easiest class in game, if you don't understand this then I don't know what to tell you. Also to say that brigands have to think about aggro and therefore are more difficult is just crazy. Brigands hardly have to think about aggro as it is, and they don't even have to pay attention to things like AE's, which is only a fundamental part of the game evident in almost every raid encounter.

As for you talking about skill positions (MT) I'll agree. However I'm not talking about skill positions, I'm talking about the classes themselves.

In response to Pronoia about the hardest being any raid tank or healer and the easiest being any raid dps I'd have to say this is one of the dumbest comments I've ever seen. Playing any healer, even a raid healer, is fucking easy. Any fighter besides the MT also has it pretty damn easy.

Disagree on Coercer being any harder than Illusionist. You click buttons, there's not much difference between the 2 classes at all besides how the damage is done. It's the same skill level required.

You can take any class, push buttons and do the bare minimum with them - and people will probably point out quickly enough that you suck. You will not be finding groups easily, you will probably not be raiding unless someone is reallllly desperate for that class just for their buffs.

To say certian classes are easy is to say a total dimwit can not only play the class, but actually play it very well.

If you can pinpoint a few top raiders playing the classes in your first list and prove them to be absolutely dense, then you'll be proving that they're indeed easy classes to play.

Otherwise, I think it's less the class and more the driver of the toon. A brigand that is clueless about other classes is pretty much a bot. And probably one that will kill more mages before you can say "Devestation!"

I disagree with the assassin comment here. I feel you have somewhat of a bias here. There really isn't much focus that needs to be maintained at all. I use 9 ca's and would probably do just as much as you who probably spams all.

Dodging an AE isn't difficult and let's see, theres a total of 2 or 3 fights you actually have to do it in, big whoop. Both are DPS classes who also debuff, their job is to parse as high as possible while debuffing. A brigand is more difficult to do this with, AR or no AR. Before you call me a retarded brigand, I'll just let you know that I am a Swash, and played a brigand as an alt when our main one wasn't on (before leveling my own).

I mean really, let's take a look at your 'rankings'

Easiest:

1. Brigand - no dodge ae lolllll
2. Troubador - bards suck lol
3. Dirge - I guess ressing is harder than Jester's Cap, so Troub gets bumped up?
4. Templar - Casting spells is easy
5. Mystic - why is it easier to play a Mystic than a defiler? It's a mystery
6. Guardian - Guardian is easier cuz they have more taunts !!!!!!!
7. Inquisitor - Casting Zeal and AFKIng is tough too ok
8. Illusionist - uhhh I can't think of any witty comment here

Hardest
1. Assassin - Most DPS, must be hardest to play?
2. Ranger - hardest part is getting a fabled bow to drop here, I agree, its difficult!
3. Warlock - difficult part is finding motivation not to betray
4. Swashbuckler - I guess same as warlock
5. Wizard - Hard part is not getting aggro and welp, thats about it
6. Paladin - wow they can heal AND tank, that must be tough, plus they have to amends some gimp dps and not aggro too, talk about a full plate whew
7. Coercor - I don't understand how they are any different than an illusionist
8. Shadowknight - well they can't heal, but their taunts suck so bad they can't tank well either, I guess they buff? But they are tougher than bards!!!
