    Default Casa de Putas

So yeah since I don't play anymore, I technically don't have any business here. But hello, guys and girls. I'm glad LFG made this forum, it was long overdue. I'm comfortably kicking my addiction to MMOs by playing Oblivion (my methadone) and working my ass off. How are the rest of you surviving on the long haul to t7? And anything else in between.

And just to try and keep this thread on discussion with the rest of the threads...

I realized that when I was still playing eq2, I hated everyone I knew, pretty much. I've got no time for idiots in RL, and why should I have time for idiots on eq2? The people I've seen are multiple, I saw it when I was in TDS, NPU, and Dissolution (wasn't in it, but I knew most of the people), they've all got their share. Every one of your guys' guilds out there has their share. It's funny, you figure to play a game to be the best, or try to be the best, you don't think that other people acting like 12 year old immature babies would hinder you in any way, nor make you upset, but the truth, at least for me, is that it did/does. Day after day, and I confess this was the last 4 months I played, the game made me more and more agitated because of the people I had to interact with. It's a pity that some of the greatest people aren't hardcore enough, don't know how to play effectively.

A ton of TDS from the old school would have been great, it was always my dream to get all the best players fired from their jobs and make them play 24/7. It's not their fault, my fault, or anyone else's. The game just plain got to the terminal death throes (and it still is, unless EoF is really, really good, so many more will quit), and people just stopped showing up. I think that if more of the old school TDS had stayed on from t6, that we would have had more of a run in t7. But Tunabash and myself both got on the RL track, I have a job, and he goes to college full time now.

I don't really know where this is going, I'm just going to keep rambling on though.

The best players were those who started at the beginning. They had all that time to learn how to play, learn how to be effective. It's just too bad the game degraded so much that these players ended up quitting. I've seen it, and so has every other guildleader who has been around since launch. To me, it's depressing when you lose a valued member of your team, whether to RL stuff, getting bored of the game, or other circumstances.

I have to admit, I have a high tendency to dislike anyone who wasn't around during t5. We had major problems with people not logging on when KoS came out, and as a result we had to recruit t5 (and to an extent, t6) newbs. It sucks because when you are talking in vent, and are all like "ok guys form up, this mob is kind of like The Kra'Thuk", you get half the guild sending you tells like "wtf is The Kra'thuk?" At least, this is what I found to be true. We (TDS) lost a ton of momentum when Tunabash quit, and even more when I stopped playing hardcore. I know most of you extremely dislike Tunabash, but whatever you say about him, he was good at being in charge and getting people ready. We led TDS in the classic "good cop, bad cop" style, and you can guess what kind of cop I was. It was only when Tunabash quit that I had to step up to play the "bad cop" as well, and unfortunately, none of the other administration staff could step up to fill Tuna's shoes. He was a good raidleader, but his PR sucked. Which is where I came in.

I'd whine and moan to my officers, complaining about the lack of experience, but in short there was nothing I could do because we were on the same server as Dissolution and got crushed. You know, it was my idea to transfer the guild to Mistmoore when the merge came around, and I fully admit it was because I knew that most of TDS wouldn't stand up to the Dissolution challenge. Not because they weren't skilled, I knew they were, but they just lacked the playtimes and hardcore edge to make it work. I was willing to put the work in, but not many others were. So that is why I suggested the move to Mistmoore. In the end, my members spoke for me, and they wanted to move to Nektulos. So we did, and look what happened. The two other guilds that I thought were "ok" from Lavastorm, Cataclysm and one more, now wish that they had transferred to another server as well. I have to say, the environment on Lava was much, much different then the environment on Nektulos. We weren't hardcore like Dissolution, and we really didn't like it. I get pissed off sometimes when I see your (DDT, plus whiners from other hardcore "end game" guilds) post on every little thing on the forums, it just seems like needless whining to me. I guess you guys have "fun" doing it and it "keeps you entertained" but to me, it's a bunch of annoying bullshit. But then again, I hate whiners in RL, so that extends to how I feel online. Like I stated earlier, it just is hard for me to let all that stuff go to try and enjoy a game.

That's where Nektulos and Lavastorm differed. The community was vastly different. I wish the merger had never taken place and I could go back to the t5 days on Lavastorm, where it was TDS, Cataclysm, Myrmidons, and Conviction. I even wish I could go back to the start, when everyone started raiding. I miss the guilds that were around and the diversity of them. Most of my administration were stand up guys, and none of you could hold a candle to them.

Well that ended up being a lot longer then I thought. But whatever. Flame on?

We all miss T5. I think a lot of us old T5 Vets who have been playing since launch wish we could turn back time a bit too.

T5 owned, which is why alot of people (including myself) are rolling alts to play that content again.

Just one question, How could you survive in a MMO when you hated everyone you knew lol.

Everyone misses t5. T5 rocked. If your a raider, t5 was the golden age of eq2.

That being said, the Dissolution challenge, lol, i like that

You have to understand things from our point of view. You had your lavastorm server and your community of raid guilds and your being merged with ours. Half of the raid community, and the most competition Disso has ever had took the opportunity to turn tail and run away from us so all we had was Lavastorm. In essence, it was more like Dissolution transfered to Lavastorm from our point of view.

So what are we gonna do? We're gonna dominate the raid scene. Sure we might be assholes, but rest assured we're assholes towards each other as well. Believe it or not we dont all get together and decided to post about the same things, that just happens. We prefer to recruit people who speak their mind even if its against our views. Generally people with different views cant handle the ridicule they receive and leave so thats why we may seem so similar.

Right on man, I loved our T5 and T6 days on Lavastorm, Tuna and Jorc's big mouths, the days of Horrendous at the SS docks :P, Myrmidons being peices of shit, all that good stuff. I always had respect for you guys in TDS, even being in Conviction. But then again no one was really that hard on each other.

    I miss T5

i thought SOE starting doing some good with BAOW and SOTL raid zones...then DoF came and basically ruined the game.

EoF needs to perform or SOE will lose a lot of subscribers. This is basically the make or break expansion of EQ2.

Everyone misses t5 because people couldn't get geared up in a matter of a month and the raids never got stale because you were always striving for that awesome fabled *insert item here* and mobs such as Nagalik provided a fun challenge that didn't come from extreme lag or cheap gimmicks like fear or knockback.

T6 was fun, because despite lackluster loot and mobs (except pedestal and djinn master), you couldn't become fully fabled in a month by farming class specific gear. It was also fun because the environment of the server. Some of the most fun I've had in my 14 month TDS history came in t6. One of the most memorable times was when we beat Pedestal of Sky for the first time and seeing that Reznor's yell in vent woke up one of our guildies kids.

I agree with Reznor completely that TDS would have had a better run in t7 had we not had so much of a fall out. The first domino in the chain was tunabash, and it slowly spiraled from there. Despite the public hatred toward Tuna, he really wasn't a bad guy once you got to know him. He would get on your ass if you weren't doing your job, but he'd also be a good person to talk with. People didn't take the time to try and see what was underneath the shell of Tuna's ego, and just took him for what he seemed to be.

All in all, I'm very disappointed in the way KoS has been and I hope that EoF is the expansion we've all been praying for. However, I wouldn't hold my breath, because SoE is infamous for ruining expansions. If EoF chokes, I am going to quit, and I know for a fact that hundreds of others will do as well.
