And please spare us the “I like eq2 also” bullshit; it is quite obvious you do not even play EQ2, or if you do have maybe made it to the mid 30s.

Come on, be honest. You have never raided in eq2 have you? I'm not sure if you are just trolling me to troll or if you are pretending to have played these games at the high end. Then not knowing what to do when someone calls you on your bullshit so you just spew out insults to try and lead the discussions from such gems as:
"I remember distinctly getting together 72 people to raid the behemoth."
and
"Again I haven’t played wow in a very long time, and no next to nothing about the expansion. But WoW has far fewer scripted encounters than EQ2."
I did not misquote those, and they are plain retarded.
I am honestly starting to question whether you play eq2. Or knowledgeable about any of the things you talk about for that matter.
Anyway
Merge guardians and berserkers
swash and brig
warlock is useless so it can go
just give necros coh and call it a day
get rid of assassins
get rid of bruisers(monk sounds cooler so they win)
get rid of wardens(at least furies are unique)
one shaman, cleric,enchanter,bard
Of course this would piss a ton of people off even if it does make sense from a design standpoint. Which is why it will never happen

Shucks, I wouldn’t get into an eq2 vrs WoW argument with you on eq2flames. Musta really hurt your feelings! Ever wonder if maybe I steered away from them because they were asides to the real argument? Again, WoW is just your speed, and I am glad you enjoy it more than EQ2.

Easy to say from behind the veil of anonymity. I checked, the highest Kobalt is 36. If you know the shit, why not reveal your server, guild, and character name?

And how does this make sense from a design standpoint? It just does, doesn’t cut it. It makes sense if you are a jealous WoW fanboi looking to make EQ2 fall on its face just like SWG did when they tried it, and that is about the only way it makes sense.
Return to WoW and be happy, we don’t need retards like yourself here.

Re: Everquest 2: What the Shit edition
Actually I'd love to hear someone seriously try to justify merging classes. Start easy, lets go with Inquisitor and Templar.
Keep in mind the worlds of difference in roles, AA builds, desired gear stats/effects, and spell lines. Merge them, in your hypothetical world.
Seriously, you can do shit like that when the game is in alphas and it's mostly paper changes. To just merge one class (from the two sub-classes IE temp/inq) would require it's own patch, to itself, once you include itemization and effects, ballance changes, etc. And to top it all off, the game wouldn't be any better off for it.

Easy, their heals already balanced against each other, so let's just instead if you're from Freeport you get Inquisitor AAs, and if you're from Qeynos you get Templar AAs. Toss a few spells around that you get both copies and they share the same recast, and adjust the AAs to match the new spells. Allowing a Templar to go 1 way, while the Inquisitor goes the other way all within the same class.

But what is the benefit?
Ok, so you got rid of a class, what does that benefit anyone? You haven’t made the game any easier, and it sounds like you are just making the two into an evil and good version of the same class, but isn’t that what templar/inquisitor does already?
All I see coming from such a situation is people from one side complaining because the AA lines of the other are better in their opinion.
Sure, you manage to reduce the number of classes by one, but IMO the current class system really isn’t that complicated. So by removing them you only reduce variety. Some people dislike variety I guess, personally I like it.

Re: Everquest 2: What the Shit edition
EDIT: I got ninja posted while typing, arrr! Fetch me a pirate to fight off the tree-hoppin' star throwers. My post is directed at Pinksi.
What about templar HP/Mit buffs?
Inq DPS buffs? Templar don't currently have combat art replacements for their spells, but they have ways to make their spells ass kicking. So combine ass kicking spells with combat art replacements, with 100% melee crits. Now you've got a Tempisitor that's a DPS machine that can heal. What does that do for balance? I'd hate to see a goup of six of your 'clerics' all DPS spec'd. Newest bot-farming group formation.
What happens to the additional heal lines that temps get? What about the larger arch healing line, do we just replace the INQ fanatical healing line with that? Or do we nerf the temps and give them fanatical healing?
Do we remove the magic debuffs from the inqs shame line so that it's physical only like the templars guilt line? Or do we just make them all match one or the other? That's going to make landing magic attacks a bit harder, and melee a lot hearder, without the extra 900 or so of whicher one you're remove.
What happens to chilling inquest? Do we give this new cleric that 'you do it for me' mana tap? Fanatacism?
Oh, and lets not forget the class specific stuff. Do we want it to reward a more flexible build and include STR/STA/AGI or just crank up the wis so clerics can do a c-heal... I mean, reactive chain?
In short: You didn't answer the question.
This is not EQ1. This is EQII. You now have 24 classes. Pick one you like and rawk.
