Because nobody should EVER give a flying fuck about alts. Alts are alts, they aren't your main, they shouldn't be required unless direly necessary because a main isn't on. Which in this case it's obvious that it's not because a main isn't on, it's because the encounter is horribly balanced.

Nobody ever said anything about being bad-ass. As far as our roster, maybe if you had some competition on your server you would realize that a strict 24 person roster doesn't work quite as well since there is no way everybody can be on at any time. Contesteds on our server don't last, so the way we stay on top is to have a few extra people so we can field a raid, boxed or not, at most times during the day.

LOL I love people that look at our roster and say omg 32 people???

I can speak for myself I go away ALL the time so that month I am away I auto sit out and they have others that raid in my place.

I get to maintain a RL and play in a top guild on the server and that works for me and the guild as it would be.

The game is progressing.

There is a new teir coming out.

There is going to be new raid setups needed.

Other than the trends of sucking out loud:

-Phasing out anyone who can not cure from even DPS slots
-Stun/Stifles with no duration, just last until cured
-Mobs that stun/stifle many, many times turning the encounter into who can cure the most

Make it so that mass stuns/stifles aren't the only thing being used in encounters and the inherent need during that type of encounter to overload on predominately mage characters in addition to 7-9 healers and needing to mix up raid forces for different zones and different contesteds shouldn't be a problem.

Needing an exact set up with no others viable is shit, needing multiple set ups in one zone is shit, but neither of those have come true yet.

I like the idea of a larger roster, it gives people the chance to sit out and do real life stuff, even if its just spending time doing boring shit like housework, atleast its done and out of the way, i would love to sit out, but being a brig i dont get the chance.

and using alts to fill gaps seems logical to me, if you dont wanna have a larger raid force then i guess you'll have to find other ways to field raids.

Yes! every guild should have small roster like Disso .. so u can refuse to pull mobs where requires normal raid ( pretty much all high end guild has 7-8 healers ( 3 clerics )) .. Oh yea so u can go do EH!! and let the avatar depop

And dont call urself High end guild or Hardcore if u can't gear up alts after almost 1 year into expansion

Looks like all the top guilds will start having to recruit 48 man rosters to have 2 of each sub-class, or 96 man rosters to have 4 of every subclass on the roster... just in case for RoK .

And looks like I'll have to quit being "hardcore" since I don't want to play alts

Contesteds on Najena don't last at all. Najena is by far the most contested server, and not just by U.S. guilds. There are guilds in such a wide variety of time zones that if we don't call for a contested it is pretty much guranteed we would lose it. Not only do we have U.S. guild competition but we also have to deal with an Asian and an Aussie guild at all hours of the night and day. Our 26 person roster deals with this quite well and we kill shit with whoever can log on. The rest of the content in the game doesn't even require a 24 person raid force let alone a 24 person raid force with a specific make up.

1 on a long term inactive and 2 alts. I can count, thanks though.

Edit: Shit, you could probably say 25 because Exill isn't really playing anymore either.
