Alts REQUESTED to Join a Raid
Your Raid Leader examines the classes of eligible players who gathered on time and at the assembly point for tonight's raid. For the good of the Raid, (s)he asks you to play your Alt - a "needed" class this night - instead of your Main. Also assume the following:
- It is not unusual for your Guild to REQUEST an Alt
- You are a Raider in good standing.
- Your Guild uses DKP and open bidding for loot.
- Normally, your Guild restricts loot to Mains in attendance; Alts have (some kind of) access to loot only after Mains have declined.

Re: Alts REQUESTED to Join a Raid
If you are asked to play that alt then, in my opinion, you should be able to bid for items for that alt with your bid being given the same consideration as anyone else's who is in the raid.

Re: Alts REQUESTED to Join a Raid
You should still only be bidding for your main unless no other main needs what drops. If it is an alt that is used alot, then they should have first dibs over any other alts in guild but still not over a main.

So if alt used on Avatar kill for example this alt might get an item that several mains want aswell? Not that it's going to happen, because usually ppl have common sense, but still I think it's wrong.

That should work perfect.

If your alt is needed for a raid then it should be able to bid just like any of the other needed people for that raid.
Otherwise there is little to no reward or progression or benefit for the raid(well geared vs avg geared alt), other than just being there, to agree to play your alt, especially in the situation that was outlined where people are asked to play alts a lot of the time.
EDIT: Remember this is a DKP system, not an utmost need before want system.

its a "needed" class helps if needed classes are geared , alt or not
AFTER MAINS <- for those who think it will be cute to flame that idea.

You earn DKP for a character, not for yourself as a player in most systems. So, your alt has 0 dkp, therefore you can't bid for your alt.
PS, if you have to play your alt that much, then your guild obviously has problems and needs to recruit more. Unless of course it's for mobs that are retarded and require you to have multiple alts to beat, which what are the point of creating a mob that a guild(note when I say guild, I mean the characters, not the players) can barely beat without massive recruiting the day before it's killed?
In the end, I recruit a character, not the player. It may seem cold, but that's the way it is. You're either playing your character, or you're not. Sure I'll let you earn DKP if you play your alt and even bid on items with that DKP for your main, but your alt is your alt. It isn't guilded, therefore it has 0 bid rights.

Re: Alts REQUESTED to Join a Raid
Point still stands, if you have enough DKP with that character, in that system, then by all means you should win the item instead of a "main" who is just bidding on it.

The system seems clear to me. It says alts get to bid if no-mains want it. Therefore, if no mains want it, the alt can bid. If a main wants it, then the alt can't bid. End of story.
