I'm only up to 1454 quests completed ><

I have a hard time finding all the n00bie quests that I blew by when I was first leveling.

I have always found it highly strange that a game called EverQuest does not reward the act of questing itself (aside from quest rewards of course). A title for completion of say 500, 1500, 2000 etc quests would be a good way to reward those who put the time in to run around doing them.

As far as the "ex post facto" concept, what was your reaction when the proc belt and wurmslayer quests were released with higher level crafting requirements?

Any item or title that is had by 10 or more people becomes almost exponentially less special with every added player. That's why I said 2500 or 3000.

I never had any doubt that the KoS HQs were primarily a reward for people who had ALREADY leveled their main as a crafter.

Wurmslayer wasn't any reward to my main however, since I couldn't equip it. It was to my alt, and to scouts and fighters who had previously leveled as a crafter.

But just because they've made a mistake in the past doesn't mean they should repeat it in the future.

On the subject of bias, how many quests have you done to date?

I had to go with titles as well. Items aren't a bad idea, but titles seem to be the traditional reward for achievements in this game, and would seem a fitting reward for someone who has put so much work into something. Plus, how would you make an item to satisfy players of such diverse backgrounds and classes? Difficult, to say the least.

Not sure the point being made from this; I remember you asking in the forums why your main could equip other weapons of that type but not *that* one like you wanted.

eq2players.com says I've completed 889. A dribble.

Ya, I really wanted to equip the Wurmslayer on my defiler.

Regarding your quest number, ok, you pass.

Didn't know if you were one of those 2k+ quest guys already.

Thanks

and, to be completely honest, i think the reward for accomplishing the most difficult tasks in the game should be more for show than for effect.

for example, harder raids should give better loot. but the hardest raid encounter should give something more like a title or "for show" reward. because if you've already beaten the hardest mob in the game, what good is BETTER gear?
none. none whatsoever.
i know a lot of people in this game don't agree with that. that's fine. the SOE team doesn't seem to agree with it either.
the "next expansion" is just going to trivialize your gear eventually anyway, so what does it matter if this hardest mob gives gear that is slightly better than your other top gear?

Yes, the titles would get rare as the quests counts get higher. You'd reward people that completed 500 say, but the rare titles would be hard to get and less people would have them.

Kind of like beating SoTL if you did the questline you got the title
