Wow you are dense. You are paying for the EXPANSION - the original game and older expansions are FREE. Do you know what FREE means? Software value quickly goes to $0, them adding the old content onto the expansion to help out new players doesn't hurt you at all.

Exactly, and it's a great way to not fuck over players who are interested in trying EQ2 -- it SUCKED to tell people "Oh, yeah, you should try EQ2.. well, you'll need to pay $40 for the game and then $20 for exp1 and then $30 for exp2 and then $15 for this adventure pack and ...". That's dumb; they need players more than they need the revenue from ancient content that most people would also skip buying.

Also, this simplifies future content and lets them use the world better -- if they can assume that everyone has, say, KOS, they can put in quests in ROK that require you to visit KOS and the like, which is a great thing. Can get some reuse out of some rarely visited zones.

Well for me I dont really mind. I cant get involved in this argument as its not really something I can be involved with or say DD > retail etc. I am a player of mmorpgs for many years, I started with EQ1 and I played it for a few years and then had to break for RL stuff. Went to Anarchy online after RL for a change which I did like but got suckered into WoW RL mates played it etc. Quit WoW and now I would love that EQ buzz again, I Dunno but I am sure a few of you will understand me. Hence my Post, I have been tracking this expansion since I heard about it, and tbh I know it SUCKS that you all had to pay for the previous expansions. But for me this may lure me into buying it I truely refused to pay £70 for all the expansions to find out it wasnt what I want to pay to play, with xmas coming up (more expense) Its actually refreshing to see sony releasing this as a 1 pack , without waiting for 10+ expansions to release a 1 box set... I dont really feel sorry for those who paid to play the new stuff, since I am gonna be a level 1 nubling in a whole new game :D and you all have your equip from the expansions . I understand its annoying but I hope it captures more intrest like my own into joining EQ2 :D Sevini
