Why do you play EverQuest 2? - Page 5

Back in Nov 04 i was talking to a woman at a charity golf tournament who said said she was divorcing her husband because he played a online game "Everquest 1" non stop

So when i was browsing in a game store and saw EQ2 i thought lol thats that game, i checked it out and saw it was like morrowind and other games i'd played but online and obviously real people played the other chars so i thought thats cool and i bought it.

I actively started playing on boxing day (boring day) in 04 and i enjoyed the levelling and questing i was majorly into doing writs and quests but as i approached lvl 50 my priorities switched to the end game ie Raiding

Now that is all i focus on.. doing heroic instances when a new expansion comes out is just a stepping stone to maximising my gear and chars abilities iin the interim of raiding, sometimes i miss the days of doing writs so i punch out a few in bonemire but for the most part i just raid or play an alt with the intention of raiding with my alt.

Well there wasnt an option "To get chicks" so I put Raiding content cause thats pretty close.

It sounds corny but I play EQ2 mainly cause I met some great people who play and I like hanging out with them. The game itself is fun and I enjoy the content, but I would've left a long time ago if I hadn't met the people I play with now.

Yeah, kinda interesting that a game inspires so much passion that even the people who quit can't stay away from the forums...

What SoE failed to understand is that to many people, half the fun of the game is the forums. When you take the fun out of the forums and make them excrutiatingly unpleasant and stupid with excessive moderation, that kills the game for a lot of people.

Even when you stop playing because you no longer have the time or desire to raid, compete, or grind, whatever, you can still have a great time on the forums. And people who no longer play are still interested in the game and are friends with a lot of the people who they played with.

So it doesn't surprise me at all that people who no longer play are posting here. I think that's a good thing.

Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, more raiding, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, some more raiding, Raid, Raid, check the broker, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid, Raid. That's pretty much all I do in EQ2.

I used to have an alt that I wanted to get into a "raidable state" but I gave up on him shortly after KoS came out.
