Rangers aren't up to the level of say Assassins, but a top played Ranger can still easily get near the top of the parse.....and in turn pull aggro.

Ok I have to ask ... Are Rangers upset because their dps was brought down to "be more allianed with other classes" and are not automatically at the top of the dps charts without even trying any more? Seemed to me that before the "Great Ranger Nerf" Rangers were all but unstoppable. Now before I start really getting flamed here ---- I do recognize that SOE went overkill on it... and there are still some ironing out here. HOWEVER, a good ranger still does very well on the parse list that I have seen. /shrug
Ok that was totally off topic. Sorry.

I would think you have a valid point....not going to lie, I had an ego (and still do...but that isn't here nor there...lol) when raiding with Vagabonds, but just the same I got a ton of compliments from the first night I was there over the way I play my class.
My guess is the majority of people who promote themselves to be the best are the best geared, and in the guild who gets the most server disco's....while that is PROBABLY true most of the time, there are always going to be exceptional players who just don't have that playstyle, and in turn are thought of in that company.

Sir! key words there "if they wanted to" My point was that rangers have 41% agro reduction meaning a tank should never ever lose agro to a ranger while they have there primal agility up. and even a ranger on top of parse should never pull agro on a tank that does even a half ass job, not as long as PA is up.
But yes your right i used to take mine off all the time for the eyeball in labs that has that long winded speach. Great thing to do fucked up all the other scout's DPS parses because the eye ball would run to me and out of there melee Range. just take PA off unload a vieled fire and RoA at the begining of combat, funny shit to hear them complain afterwards.

See because your guild is the best doesn't always make you the best, best geared aye, but best at your class, no. A lot of getting into guilds is who you know, why you know them, etc... Anyways...

Many Rangers don't have access to the two bows that drop ammo that can raise their DPS by 150+ when combined with a decent longbow (they drop in DT). This is a really big issue as many other classes can get good personal DPS from masters or more easily obtainable weapons - Rangers will tend to lag a bit until they ammo bows and bows with >100 DR.
On the SoE forums many posted parses don't mention the buffs it took to get there - 2 or 3 procs, max haste and DPS buffs, capped stats. Rangers that raid casually or don't raid might not understand those parses require most of those things in place to get. They then wonder why they can't hit those numbers with a Grizz and 50% haste.
Some will just be average (or bad) but see the high numbers and want them without working for it or possibly not knowing what to change to increase their damage.
But the bottom line is, similarly buffed, many classes bring more to the table and get close to Ranger DPS (or at least good enough that you can bring them instead of Rangers and have a more efficient raid).
Pro.

Before the great Ranga nerf we were the best but after the ranger nerf SoE just went to far and thats pisst me off about the whole nerf. Even SoE themselves realized they fucked up and posted in the ranger board when they found that rangers DPS came from procs and poisons...2 LU's later they added more DPS to ranger attacks...
Thing that bugs me about people vs rangers...yes rangers can stand outside the range of attacks but Rangers have to buy DPS...you don't see wizards buying comets for Ice comet. During DoF I bought cobalt arrows and easly spent 1pp per raid burning arrows, no other class has to do that.
