People that declare themselves as the best this or that of their class

Ive seen like 50 best mystic in the games,
100 best so and so on the server... random rankings that are somehow put together
im a shaman in a guild that has killed everything but matron does that mean that every guild that has killed matron has better shamans? THAT could be viable but it seems like there is like 50 of the best. maybe if there was some clear consensus about the best of the best since there is no competition (fuck you sony) then we could make mention of best shaman on blah blah blah or best dirge in blah blah blah but we cant. I play on the SE server and i have NEVER made a claim that i was the best anything... in fact i proclaimed my 70 guardian as the shittiest guardian on the server... but since im on a "priviledged" server does that mean that I suck compared to people on regular servers? how about the fact that I have NEVER used the SE in any way whatsoever whether it be buy or sell. am i still one of the priviledged? i guess this is less of a flame and more of a rant but still begs the question: can we either make a ranking that everyone can agree on with certain rules to the ranking or shut the fuck up about it because nobody cares.

It's more fun to watch the claims and counterclaims. Are you sure this post isn't more about the total lack of respect people have for the SE servers (and hence the people that play on them)?

The 'I am the best - here's why' posts and counter arguments are soooo entertaining - what's to dislike about them unless you are actually taking it seriously?

As for being on SE and not using the facility, who the fuck cares? You are on SE...

Im the best period. and so is anyone else that willingly quit that half game. I know you may enjoy playing it but well all those 'best of the best' are best of half classes. Half Made, half thought out, HALF. this 2 classes 2 sides of the same coin bull shit is one of the worst class systems I ever played in any MMO.

Seriously though, Half class = Half the Skills = Half the responsibilities = easier to play = you are the weakest link goodbye. in other words Gratz on being the best of the best in the Special Ed Class.

Everything is to generalized to the point it doesn't make sense. Illusionist / coercer...uh what's the difference? Ranger Assassin? how are they even alike?
about the only one that makes sense is Paladin / SK, Knight follower of a good god vs Knight Follower of a Evil God.

That system is about pointless now anyway since they removed the class/subclass quests....its like they know they made a mistake....oops

Well EQ2 has done one really great thing for Sony, all the error they are seeing now should make for a great EQ3.

How can you rank people in classes? Seriously, there is no clear cut way to rank.

Solo? Group? Raiding? Stats? Gear? Upgrades? How do you rank?

It just isn't really possible to rank anyone, other then personal opinion.....while myself I believe I was the best played Crusader on Unrest, and now Mistmoore, others can claim the exact same thing.

Who is right? It's all about ego at this point....the real ranking would have to come from the people who have played with said person....

I have to agree with this one. I will say /flex I'm the bestest Defiler you know it. But everyone I say that to knows I say it totally tongue and cheek. I will be the first to admit that while I'm good at my class there are those out there who are better than me ( *cough* LFG *cough* sorry had a tickle ) What is sad are those who truely believe they are the best. When in fact they suck ass. Had one tank ( a while ago - who I have recently seen come back unfortuantly ) who swore he was the best thing ever. Even the tanks in those hardcore raiding guilds were worse than him .... yadda yadda yadda.... ( no its not Kajar... <3 the dwarfy withthe pink bows and ribbons in the hair ) The fucker couldn't keep aggro at all!!!!! He'd go random afk wihtout telling anyone, and wouldnt taunt through out a fight - hence the ranger and me would get aggro all the time. About half way through SoS we dropped group once we realized that he was afk again we all left him in the middle of SoS.

I have heard that people are ranked #1 on the server, etc. Is there a SOE list of actual rankings? And how can they base that? on dps it would surely be easier by looking at their dps -- but tanks are not just a good tank based on dps - there is thier taunt ability, add control, movement through a zone, etc. --- and healers yea so you can look at how much they heal for -- but that would give a huge unfair advantage to a raid healer vs a grouping healer.

I have my opinion who is the best tank on the server ... though someone else could say that someone else is the best tank on the server. I think it has a LOT to do with play style also.

most often then not my expierence with this, is that members of the top raiding guild on each server think they are automatically the best at thier classes. This may be true for some servers and classes, but more often then not I would tend disagree with that statement. I have meet quite a few people very good at thier classes that chose not to be in top raiding guilds for certain reasons.

While I agree with the general thoughts that Rangers aren't near where they should be, I have played with a couple kick ass Rangers (Rhaz, Nealai) and if they wanted to, they could pull aggro.

Rangers aren't up to the level of say Assassins, but a top played Ranger can still easily get near the top of the parse.....and in turn pull aggro.
