And I will say it once again if you think Assassins are gimp you suck at the class.
And to keep from going too far off topic I played a monk for a year and a half but Assassin is by far my favorite class since I main switched a year ago and couldn't see myself playing anything else.

Keep your sticky hands off my swash. I have no interest in being merged with brigs and see us despite being similar, as very distinct. And they get fugly clothes.
I LOVE the swash, always have and always will. Yup im a girl, and appearance does matter to the feel of my toon, and the swash has always had cool looking set clothes - (poor brigs and their hamburgler hat).
A swash is a skilled swordsperson who kills with flair while looking dashing and handsome and never breaking a sweat. We aren't as rough and tumble as the smelly brigands - A bit more subtle, refined and classy.
My main issue with the class is the limited effective pathways for an end game swash. I adore freehanding and that is looking to be dead. Being forced to be the same spec as the brigs and all the other swash's to be a contender, is very frustrating and too linear. Besides, a swash should only have one weapon on, as that other hand is much better used grabbing a drink and waving at the cute boys! (who doesn't love a showboat ;))

This man knows nothing.
I made a Conj as my first character, twas ok I suppose. Bit woo woo, wiggle wiggle boom splat though. Only got to lvl 32 or so I think. Then I made my assassin. God damn but leveling him up was a POS, trying to do writs in commonlands with adept 1's and treasured gear and getting WTF pwned so much. I got so pissed off, this was back in DoF when assassins where pretty gimp.
I'm pretty much interested in everything pertaining to assassindom, I'm quite happy to sit for hours thinking up new strategies to analyze this or make use of that.
Things that really attracted me to the class:
The character, ratonga, any character I make that is NOT a ratonga is doomed to failure.
Focus of Intent: It doesn't multitask, it just does dps, exactly what it says on the tin.
Ninjas! L33t ninja haxxkklollerbong
That the antithesis of my class is a bunch of tree hugging nancy-boys.
I'm a simple soul.

Re: Passion for your class...
I have a level 70 Brigand, and I don't play him. It's just not that interesting to me. I have a level 62 Illusionist that's my next character to be leveled to the end game. I don't like raiding, so once I get 70 I just play with alts. In the end no one character has caused me to feel passionate about. Besides the Illusionist, I have a bruiser, mystic and berserker that I'm playing around with and will level to the end/close to the end.

The class names are completely irrelevant, you idiot. Rogues are the melee fighters of EQ2. Other names are given to the same effective class in other games. Get over the fucking preconceptions you bring to the game and look at what the classes actually are.
Otherwise, just shut the fuck up.

Re: Passion for your class...
Well little homo, apparently you either:
a) never learned to read (/sob).
b) have the mental capacity of a slime mould.
c) are to busy getting ass raped by your guide dog.
The OP asked a simple question and i responded to it

Do you feel so well represented and acomodated by your class as represented by SOE in EQ2 that you actually care about it.

See, part of making a connection to a character for many people is the lore, style, manner and all that extra crap in addition to "my toon hits x mob for y damage and its sexy". So therefore, class names actually are important in establishing an identity in addition to just skills. If they had called a swash a .. god i cant think of an example, something else, then the class may have ended up with a different feel, as they build the graphics and story to match the new identity. Its actually SOE that is the one that exploits our preconceptions of what we think a class should be to enhance the immersion.
What meelee fighters in other games are called doesnt fucking matter as im speaking of eq2, and how i relate to and have a passion for my character there.

Re: Passion for your class...
Wow, you're everything wrong with this game wrapped up into oa few posts.
If I ever base a game on how my toon looks, then I would've definitely NOT played Everquest 2.
Bruiser is my favorite class since launch, through the good days, the golden, and the bland. I wish I had Tsunami though ^__^

Re: Passion for your class...
I haven't based the entire game on how my toon looks, its just a portion that i enjoy. I know all the bs technical in depth crap on the swash. Sue me for enjoying some of the fluff.
I'm actually a very decent swash for what i have to work with. People on my server will attest to that. I work hard to know my class as best as i can! But i can identify with the look, style, and overall feel of my character instead of ONLY seeing them as a debuffing dps machine. SOE has done a brilliant job with swashy's from the ground up - looks, style, good dps, and a fun role.
