Re: Passion for your class...
so does he and from his perspective assassins are fine. I tend to agree with someone whos proven himself to be knowledgeable and a badass to someone who doesnt know the difference between +12 pierce dmg and +5 pierce skill on adornments.
This is your problem. You talk like you know what you are talking about when it comes to class balance and how classes work etc and time and time again you come to the boards and ask questions that anyone who claims to know what they are talking about (like you) should know. Everytime you post you prove to everyone that you really dont know what you are talking about and cant possibly NOT really suck at your class. I understand that you aren't "hardcore" and dont really care about every little niche of this game, but to it stands to reason you should know something about the game you play to be able to have a valid oppinion and I just dont see that.

Re: Passion for your class...
Wizard from launch till game ends. Can't beat it for me, have 70 pally 42 fury 31 dirge 37 necro fury is my second favorite but I just love dishing out as much dps as possible given my mediocre gear. Besides the huge fusion and nova hits I love fighting at max range like DT for example on the evil eyes so I don't have to be cured or healed from their aoe. I see so many other ranged dps classes that just don't pay attention to that and end up dying or eating up healers mana. I haven't got bored with the wizard class yet and don't expect to
My fun raid setup would be(just for kicks):
Group1:
MT
Shammy
Cleric
Druid
Dirge
Coecer/Assasin/ or brigand
Group2:
Monk
Fury
Illusionist
Wizzy
Wizzy
Troubador
Group3:
Troubador
Fury
Illusionist
Wizzy
Wizzy
Wizzy
Group4:
Troubador
Fury
Illusionist
Wizzy
Wizzy
Brigand

Re: Passion for your class...
I'd like to say how can we fix it? But that's the even bigger problem, there isn't anything we can do. SoE could do fix this, but I don't see that ever happening. So I don't know.

Re: Passion for your class...
Multiboxing mitigates the buttsore of needing an extra player to cast at a decent speed, another player not to run out of mana, and yet another player just to land the fucking spells. A lot of pride regarding one's class can get pissed right out the fucking window when to do basic things competently you want and/or need someone else paying $15 a month to stand right next to you to put a little icon on your screen to somehow make it all better. Yeah sooner or later one of the shitbags here has to notice that.

See, part of making a connection to a character for many people is the lore, style, manner and all that extra crap in addition to "my toon hits x mob for y damage and its sexy". So therefore, class names actually are important in establishing an identity in addition to just skills. If they had called a swash a .. god i cant think of an example, something else, then the class may have ended up with a different feel, as they build the graphics and story to match the new identity. Its actually SOE that is the one that exploits our preconceptions of what we think a class should be to enhance the immersion.
What meelee fighters in other games are called doesnt fucking matter as im speaking of eq2, and how i relate to and have a passion for my character there.

No, you fucking moron. When coming up with names for the classes the twits at SOE just thumb through a thesaurus. Classes in EQ2 are defined by what spells/CAs are given to the class, not by what fucktards like you think about while masturbating.

Dude, if they called my class Bananna, I wouldn't notice the difference.
Or would I?

Re: Passion for your class...
I got such wood for the Paladin class that I keep getting banned from the SoE boards for humping classhaters. Make sure to report me next week folks so, I can get my laststrike permaban from "The SoE Gnob".

Re: Passion for your class...
I had that passion for SWG before they destroyed it. I always liked the fact I could grind, solo PVP (hunt jedi), group PVP (faction or guild based), or just sit around and decorate my house or my toons in the goofiest stuff I could find. Hell people would just sit around in the cantina and bullshit for hours.
EQ2 was created more for people to be leveling and questing, not for the end game where most of us have been for quite some time.
IMO there just isn't enough content end game in EQ2, all you have to do is raid. Raiding is great but there are only so many zones you can do and doing them over and over again is dull.... Contesteds are fun but even less people have time to be on call for them.
In the beginning it took quite some time to get your chars leveld up now hell you can do it in a few weeks.
Would be nice if there was something else to do, that might get some excitement back into it.
I do like playing my toons, but really don't have a passion for them anymore.
