Have a stupid day that has stupid girls dress like sluts and tell my kid that scary demons are cool. Fuck halloween. I'm not pulling a religion card here, I just don't like society basically controlling what my kid sees. I can't prevent halloween shit from being EVERYWHERE. If I could, I wouldn't have a care in the world about it.

Do you like Christmas? I can't fucking stand the Christmas most of the mindless masses celebrate each year, but that doesn't mean I get to be an asshole about Christmas to those that like it. To be completely honest, a LOT of people dislike the commercialization and warped version of all holidays we have in todays society, hence the posts here referencing what the holiday originally was, not an excuse to dress your kid like a whore and get bunch of candy.

I hate to break it to you, but society will be controlling a lot of what your kid *sees* for the rest of his/her life. I'm Not saying you have to like it, and you obviously should try to prevent exposing your kid to something you don't want them exposed to, but that doesn't make the day any less important to some of us.

Uhh, yeah, Samhain is still celebrated as the time of the year in which the veil between here and death thins and people take time to remember their loved ones that have died and celebrate the life they lived.

And you dont have to be some dipshit goth or pussy emo to take a little time aside to celebrate and remember.
All Saint's Day is just the christian version of a much older practice.
Commercial Halloween is to Samhain what the Easter Bunny is to the Resurrection.
(And I wont even go in to why cristianity picked THAT particular time of year)
