I've not played it in months, but GU#3 is due soon (its been delivered in 2 parts, they've had the first), which has apparently already cleared most performance issues, it also comes with the first raid dungeon, some raid contested and a few more treats.

They also now have a maintained spells window (i'm sure this annoyed others) one for defencive targets, one for offencive.

It could yet recover from its poor launch, but seriously lacks a playerbase and the content to maintain one. Hopefully all those that quit and said they'd try it again later when its more finished will do so. I still would hate to see VG die due to the potential it still has.

That is why I betrayed my coercer last week. They are very similar to the coercer but where they are different is what makes the illusionist useful and the coercer useless.

IMO they did a good job with Illusionists and a shitty one with coercer : (

I played Vanguard at launch and they pretty much nerfed the shit out of every class I tried out. The cleric/templar class sucked mightily in that game for me as compared with EQ2 so I tried other classes.

I run EQ2 on balanced settings for a good frame rate but had to run VG on the lowest possible settings and it looked like shit. I could forgive the shitty look if the game play had been there though. Of all the MMO's I've tried I think VG grated on my nerves worse than any other. All my real life friends tried it as well and hated it. I supposed the worst for me was drowning on boats.

EQ2 is the game I keep coming back to. It's not perfect but I enjoy it more than other MMO's. I'm probably a lot less burnt out on it because I haven't played it for long lengths of time like some of the folks on this board.

I playd VG from Beta 3, through launch untill 2-3 month in when i quit. i went back for a month recently but still wasn't sold. Since then Phase 1 of GU3 went live and performance apparently improved a lot.

personally i find VG plays better than eq2 on equal settings from the last time i loaded it up. VG just doesn't have as low a setting as EQ2 does.

Also some classes at launch had not been revamped, all have had this and some fine tuning is still going on.

I'm "happy" with EQ2 for now, but i keep an eye on VG's progress.
