I like doing things that are extreme examples and make loud statements. So I decided to see how much it would cost to level a guild with 6 members to 50 by only turning in status items purchased on the broker.
Hehe, the first couple of guilds to hit 50 did it by collecting status items (many many items) then booting people on the morning of the expansion, turning in the items and hitting 50 after an hour or 2. Fine by me, its not like they didnt have to work for the status items, and kudos to them for putting effort and fore thought into it.

Cant find the link to the server threads about it but yeah grats to whoever you were..

Yes, yes it is.

Then again, its not like anyone cares anymore. The guild and writ systems have been dead and buried for so long now. They just completely gave up on them and threw them to the wind.

Then again, I'm fairly biased. I'm also probably extremely insane considering I liked the old writ system. It's a joke now. I have..what, 7? million status and could care less about it. I still have negative faction totaling over -20k to the other factions I neglected.

Forgive me for the terrible pics, but here was the old system. Back before every little thing gave guild xp, and you had to work to get it. Back when you lost guild xp if people left. You lost faction for doing writs, etc etc. I remember racing another guild to be the first to thirty, both of us fielding a dozen patrons running writs. Now, you make a single run through a raid instance and wrack up half a level easy.

Yes, on the back of a far side calendar or something.

Status is just easy to get, I'm pretty much at 11 mil now. I have 2 1/2 boxes of status items in my bank waiting on EoF.

Status honestly is easy as hell to get. I have 5 HTG pretty much rdy and over 3 32 slot boxes full adding up to about 1800 status items.

Another guildee that never did any HTG is gonna have em all rdy for the expansion.

Contributed Guild Status matters as much as WW 1st's anymore. In other words, it doesn't. A fad of the past. Gone. Unimportant.

In my opinion it is exploiting. Since of course you would be taking advantage of the mechanics of the game to better yourself or to get ahead on something.

On our server we had one guild "Exile" that would disband everyone and keep like 6 people doing round the clock writs and what not. When one was going to go to sleep they kicked them and got another in to continue. And then they had the nuts to brag about being or close to being WW first lvl 40. IMO you did the pussy way out and disgraced your own tag by booting members for this method.

Anyways, people that do this suck imo. Bunch of pussies.
