Is it an exploit to drop members to minimum to level your guild?

I know when KoS came out a certain guild on our server leveled to 50 in like a day or two( by removing most members and getting some kind of bonus for guild exp for having only 6-8 members) Someone recently posted on the BB forums about a guild leader planning to do this to get "dibs" on patterns for cloaks or whatever... ( disgruntled member posted on forums anon.. could be made up might be true who knows..)

My question is is this actually ok by SoE? I know most of us frowned upon them because we leveled to 50 the hard way (hq's raiding writs loot etc) Im not flaming the guild planning to do this (im glad we dont consider this acceptable in FU) but I dont see how an average raid guild ( to quote them in a sence) could justify doing this to get cloaks for their guild when they are supposed to be rewards for hard work and determination?

i wouldnt consider this, or anything that is fully working-as-intended, an exploit.

This is allowed by SoE, and is not an exploit. Whether a guild wants to do it is up to them really. IMO, it's unfortunate this is allowed.

I like doing things that are extreme examples and make loud statements. So I decided to see how much it would cost to level a guild with 6 members to 50 by only turning in status items purchased on the broker.

To make my case, I formed a guild with my alts and am leveling this guild by buying status turn in items off the broker when the price is right. I simply clear the broker in both cities of status items below X price each day, of course not buying the overpriced ones.

My "guild" is level 18 so far, and I've spent about 8 plat total. I'm hoping to get level 50 for under 50 plat.

I did something similar a while back when I showed how easy it was to level any crafter to 70 in under a week without botting. It's gimp when it's this easy, and IMO SoE should be ashamed of this.

eof you will get first choice for patterns or something to this extent.. meaning first come first serve. meaning average joe drops guild members to get items a full time raid force9 or crazy crafting writ guild) would have reached before hand..
And lfg you arent doing that to gain access to guild rewards before everyone else.. i dig the alt guild gaining status like that ( i had 25 stacks of status loots for kos going live
