I think I might have an idea of what you're trying to say ROFL.

OK, in my time playing EQ2, I've yet to see a good player sucking at playing another class. A good player is one that understand the mechanics of the game and know the purpose of each and every class. A smart person will still be smart playing any class. A dumb person would still be dumb, even if he plays 10 different characters.

If you're asking what's more important, a shitty player with leet gear or good player with shitty gear, I would still pick the good player.

i try not to play to be better than others but instead to become a better player and have fun while doing it. i do like to parse, but again it's about how I'm doing not someone else.

Davngr has the right idea: firstly yeah, you have to be happy playing your class. If you're competitive, it's fine to aspire to be better, but you're not always going to have access to the same gear that uber_swash(01) has, so comparing yourself to them isn't always the best idea. You may still be a better player than someone, regardless of your gear. But comparatively, you can still suck, even with same/similar gear.

Agreed. You are NOT your phatz. You are your accomplishments. Not everyone plays the same scripted raiding endgame.
