DKP Application work for hourly?
In RoK we will be giving DKP by the hour instead of some of the other methods out there. My question is does anyone know of an application that can be used to track DKP if given on an hourly basis? Our website admin tried EQDKP and she doesn't think it will support it. Just curious if there is anything else out there before we write a new application.

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
an easier route would be just to have people take screenshots imo and then just have the site admin manually input them in.

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
ive been doing hourly dkp since T6, but ive always done it manually.
never had a problem unless we had alot of ppl joining in late on raids id just use ACT and paste only names "{n}" from the zonewide into EQDKP
but if someone has an application for it, you'd be my hero this week
edit: errr unless you mean hourly as each hour is one raid then i dont know how to make that easier

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
We do hourly DKP in raids - using EQDKP, and a log file parser called DKPLP I think it is.
Yes each hour is stored as a separate raid in EQDKP, so if you don't like that then our method doesn't work.
But DKPLP can uploaded the resultant log parse straight into your EQDKP instance, and works well for time allocated DKP.
We actually had to modify the parse strings quite heavily in DKPLP to make it work with the way we had been taking our DKP in raids previous to using this parser, and I found the forums and the main support guy there *extremely* helpful - and he even came up with the necessary parse strings to work with our log files after I sent him a sample of our logs.

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
just a question b/c ive never had a personal experience with an hourly DKP system, but on raids that you have beaten lets say 5x+ already, what happens if everyone is sucking ass and it takes you like twice as long? you just get double dkp?
b/c then id prolly try and go slow on purpose to get more dkp. the concept just seems wierd to me rewarding more for less.

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
A guild i was in on another MMO [wont say which MMO for fear of being cast into exile]
We would actually set a specific amount of points per raid, and also set bonus dkp.
For example, a 2 hr Emerald Halls raid for 5 points, and you have to clear up to, but not including TEnder. You could then say, if you kill the tender, everyone gets an extra 1dkp and if do it all in 1.5hrs instead of 2, you get another dkp.
This makes everyone give it their best

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
The incentive to not suck is loot. In general, guilds raid about the same amount of time regardless of the number of bosses you kill. I'm not sure exactly how raids work in EQ2 since I'm still a noob... but I'm assuming mobs/zones have lockout timers. If you can only clear a zone once a week and you don't fully clear it in that week, then you're losing out on loot, which would clearly not be beneficial to you. However, if you regularly clear all raid mobs prior to lockout timers being refreshed (which means you would be sitting around without anything to do and without earning dkp), THEN it would be beneficial to you to "suck" and make the raids last longer.
Most of the time, guilds decide to do an hourly rate to give people an incentive to show up to progression raids in which it is unlikely for them to kill any bosses and to earn any dkp. If the guild usually does something like zero-sum dkp and they want to continue using that... but wants this type of incentive as well... they will just add this for a short time and then go back to using zero-sum after a boss is on farm status. They sometimes add in a first time kill bonus as incentive to get the boss on farm status. So abusing the system and "sucking" isn't really a problem.

I dont know anyone, personally, who would suck on purpose to make a raid take longer...thats retarded, boring, and not fun...and its definetly the type of person I would try NOT to recruit for my guild.
We do DKP based on an hourly basis, and have never run into that problem.

if u use phpBB for forum software, i can hook u up with the system were using. u can set DKP for each raid and/or different DKP for each person in that raid. You can even set it so that certain ppl who attended dont get attendance counted for that raid, or you can set it so that entire raid doesnt get counted just DKP added.

Re: DKP Application work for hourly?
If you're raiding 2-3 hrs a night and you're getting loot then why bother with DKP per HR. The only time I see DKP per hr works is when my old guild had to farm Eyes in Silent City 12 hr straight from 12AM to 12PM. In situation like that you can do a hourly DKP because 1, there are no loot to give out and 2, the hours are too long and people needs motivation LOL people are so greedy when it comes to DKP it's funny.
