no offence aeralik but 120 to ca/spell dmg AND 5% melee + spell crit, aswell as 10% faster casting and 35 haste seems to be more than only 4k dmg every 5mins.

just imagine it on a brigand, with poison on and not grouped with an illusionist or troubadour which happens quite often, then you get a lot out of it than only 4k every 5minutes.

well we need to see how it works out on live content first, but it really gives the impression that emo faes and dark elves are getting another boost through racial trait :/

If you are on a raid and you have an illusionist haste isnt hard to get which places you high up on the curve. Plus there are tons of stackable haste sources out there now. The other skills are guaranteed damage every minute or more now. The single target ones are set to do similar amounts of damage and the aoe attacks are set to do far more damage over the same time. Like the erudite skill was doing ~1200 I think it was to 4 targets every 3 minutes which is 4800 damage max and already outdamages a lucky foi. Yes foi is nice and has its advantages since it was meant to be racially flavorful but the other skills are not as bad as they look and don't deal with diminishing returns as easily.

+CA damage on this alone makes it better than any of the class skills that have been given to the other races. Even with a .5 second cast time I can guarantee almost no class with the exception of maybe priests would even bother to cast their racial abilities. Even with haste on diminishing returns 35 haste is almost as high as the predator haste buff before AA's and that buff alone can add significant DPS while it is up. You are truly underestimating this buff Aeralik and I don't see how you can defend it like you are. Just make it 3% crits, 10 spell damage, 5 haste and be done with it.

He's not underestimating it, he knows full well what it is... he is simply downplaying it in hopes you'll let it go. Come on, he gave himself a glaring advantage, do you expect him to cop to it as well?

Those abilities still wouldn't be casted by anyone with their current damage, the damage needs to be at least 2k on the singles to fit into most rotations.

Scraping blow is far from 2k damage and you cast that right? Sure its shorter recast but poisonous bite is similar and the same casting time. I'm sure you will sneak it in

Assuming scraping blow has the 5% easier to resist as the other one you posted I probably wouldn't due to the higher chance of it being resisted when I could just cast masked ---> puncture.
