I don't see why Everyone is so completely upset about 24 seconds every 5 minutes. In pvp I can see it, but in pve it's not huge. Most of the skills that are boosted have caps or are on a diminishing returns scale anyway. DEs didn't get a new damage related attack while other classes got DD+mit debuff, DD+skill debuf, DD+Dot, AoEs.

Frogloks have some of the most unique racials (jumping out of the water for example) while they might not have gotten all the min/max stuff they were definately not left behind.

Halfling Illusionist might benefit a lot from the Ward ability they get. It might keep you alive long enough for your fellow halfling (swashy) to swap hate positions with you. I wouldn't say you get nothing.

Even the barbarian wizard has something. A 2.5 second stun might be long enough to get another spell off and save the day. Any wizard who didn't pick erudite, dark elf, or gnome should have expected to get the shaft someday.

You are fucking full of shit assclown. They specifically sold it as there would be no benefit to being one race over another for a particular class because they did not want people to be pidgeonholed. OK, you roll a tank, the following races need only do so because of immunity to stuns, or hp bonuses or defensive bonuses for example. You are a total fucking clueless steaming pile of rhino shit if you think anybody would have rolled a halfling guard or a fae zerker if race would have effected anything. Well at least we now know why the RoK box has a dark elf on the front. It's because that's the race everyone will be re-rolling as.

Ogres had +5 defense and a buff that gave them another +5 defenses, they also had +3% hp, +5 str, +5 stamina. Erudites had +3% power pool, +5 int and the list goes on. Just because you chose to ignore these small bonuses because they weren't big enough to make you consider race when you rolled your class doesn't mean they didn't exist. Starting stats also heavily favored certain race/class combos, yet you chose to ignore these facts.

After the fae got racials that were completely overpowered compared to the original racials in the game you'd have to be a moron to think that the same thing wasn't coming for the other races.

Everyone is looking at this is a black and white thing but it's not all that simple. Halflings get a self ward and a weapon skill debuff, so maybe they wouldn't make such bad tanks after all. Fae get + defense so they weren't forgotten either.

The ward you're touting is a 700 point ward. The mobs in ROK hit for about 400-600 average. SO I can last about a hit and a half.... woo! Its an aso-fucking-lutely worthless ward. It always has been, always will be. Its, at best, a way to heal myself for 700 when soloing (put it on after a fight, and let it wear off and apply the heal). At least its a shorter than 30 min recast now. But its still crap.

I'm telling you, having to pick 8 of the options was torture. That was all but 2. So I got some heal crits (ya! wtf) some really really weak piercing CA (woo.... not), +5 wis... thats a game breaker! Seriously, its crap. I don't know why there wasn't even ONE actual caster-based option in there. And being forced to take heal crits when I would have much rather gotten melee crits .... whatever. I already know the dev's have no clue what an illusionist is (ffs they almost gave us an intercept as our lvl 80 spell....) I guess they also have no clue how to balance racial traditions around the selling point of 3 years ago... you know, the whole "You can be anything you want to be" deal.

Is there a light bright enough to see with your head shoved so far up your ass? Yes, there were the SLIGHTEST of advantages given to races, but it was pretty universally agreed that at the time the game launched three years ago... what little advantage a couple extra points to a stat provided had no appreciable effect on which race played what class. We are now talking about racial abilities that DO give a considerable impact.

If these differences are no big deal, then SOE should have no problem allowing a racial respec if it won't impact the game any... because you know, the racials are no big deal right? Too much coding involved? Hmmmmm. How about copying all of the information for the character - equipment, spell levels, quests completed, house and bank and transfer that to a newly rolled character that would be buffed to your current characters level and then the old toon goes away. I don;t buy that there is a coding issue. I buy that there is a LAZZINESS issue... that there is an INTEGRITY issue... that there is a I DON'T GIVE A FUCK issue prevalent at SOE... but I don't think there is a coding issue. If there is, maybe they could inform us as to what it is, I know a lot of coders play the game and I'm sure one could figure it out if SOE can't manage.

So you know, if its not a big deal, then lets let players respec their race to make them happy... not long it would unbalance anything to have people playing optimal races for their classes right?????

If you're all that pissed off, go reroll. You can get 1 to 70 solo in a couple months at most. I never expected a halfling illusionist to be equally as good as an erudite illusionist. If you did, who's the fucking idiot now?

Why the fuck should I reroll because SOE once again went back on their word, fucked everything up and acts like its a non-issue. I would like to see the announcement where SoE said every race would be equally suited for each class? I specifically remember them stating traditional class selections for members of a race.

This being an MMO you would have to be pretty closed minded to believe things would be the same 3 years down the road. For better or worse EQ2 is constantly changing. Just look at what happened to everyone during LU13. Some of those classes were changed into something completely different than what was originally stated in the manual. Did they get a class respec? no, they rerolled. While this is no where near as big of an impact as LU13, if the changes bother you so deeply, reroll. As I mentioned before, this is the best time to do it. You can even catch the bonus xp tomorrow.
