I voted no. I think they should just balance this shit out better. Make stats worth something and just give certain races better stats in certain places.

EQ2 is not real life.

We can already change our AA, our class, our look... but not our race, once?

Some AA specs provide a far better benefit than others, some subclasses are far better than others, but we can change those... any time we want, with no consequences.

And asking for one simple racial respec is too much?

Give me a fucking break. I don't have to reroll to change my AA spec, or to switch between Mystic or Defiler, I shouldn't have to reroll to change such a fucking small difference as race.

I hold that same principle on everything but since this is something so basic as race I voted yes.It's obvious there wont be any quick fix and it's going to cause a lot of bitterness.

Voted no. The answer is NOT to allow every man and his dog (and all their fleas) to become dark elves. The real solution is to nerf the shit out of that ability (and the Arasai one as well) I do think that those two abilities are stupidly overpowered, I do not think that 20-odd servers full of dark elves is the way to fix it.

If they did allow a racial respec, the only way I would be happy is if it was impossible to swap TO dark elves or Arasai.

Then what would be the point? I agree, they need to bring the dark elves and arasai in line, but they won't... because the people in power have parochial interests working against common sense and fairness.

In other words nerf the ability or make a way day only change. But it should be more balanced because even if you do change your race you still have an unbalanced game.

I really cant believe how upset everyone is over all this, its not really that big of a deal imo. maybe a little bit left to balance for some races, but even as it is now on beta its no where near bad enough to where I would change the race i picked.

While I can see everyone's point of view here, I think it's really silly to request a one time race change.
While I understand that this Dark Elf ability is way overpowered, the chances of it getting nerfed because of all these complaints is, imo, pretty likely.
So what happens if, you get your one time race change option, and you switch to dark elf, and then two months from now they nerf the ability so its useless? Then you will just cry more because OMG WTF THEY CHANGED IT AFTER I CHANGED RACES NOW I WANNA SWITCH BACK WAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHHA.

Give me a break guys. Seriously? Lame.
