So i was searching through my email, and found a beta invite, and thought cool, ill log in and make a few 80 toons or something and check stuff out last minute before the xpac comes out... Well i installed the beta stuff and it proceeded to take 5 hours to download the patcher info or w/e... and now it says its gonna take 986 hours... umm wtf? any clues why its doing this?

Seriously though, try re-starting, or just watch the timer for 5-10 minutes. Ive had the download timer say that my download would take 27 hours 53 minutes on launch day of EoF... 3 hours later all done.

wel, its 7 18 am right now and i started downloading beta at 8 last night, and it says there are 50 hours left. Id say something is wrong :/

OK first thing first...did you set up a separate file of EQ2 to unzip the beta file into?

if you did make a copy of your EQ2 file and unzipped the beta file into the copied EQ2 file and then depending on what version of windows you are running right clicked on the EQ2beta exe file did you click "run as administrator" ?

I run vista and found that you have to do things in a certain manner to get it to work...lemme know how it goes...when I finally loaded mine for the third time after it got stuck it was a thirty minute download...down from the original three hours it said it would take....

Yeah i didnt copy the original eq2 into my beta folder :/ lol so it was redoing the entire game in a new folder >.< sorry for being a noob, and t hanks Kessel :D

You're very welcome...and glad to hear it's a quick fix to get to the patcher so you can begin that download. You should be in beta before the day is out so you at least can spend tomorrow in there before it goes live on Tuesday and beta server gets shut off.
