Default Re: Level Increase and The NEXT Expansion

the vanguard copy you have seen is most likely one that is still sitting there from launch.....

anyway...

i vote for velious with no lvl cap increase (but more aa's with an additional tree + fix for brawler aa's(yeah, still not giving up on that)) as next expansion

The 200/250 levels was mentioned as a comment about how they were limited in EQ1. Basically they were saying they didn't plan on EQ1 lasting for so long, so it wasn't designed with reaching 70+ levels.

With EQ2 its designed to be scaleable up to 200, just so they don't run into the same problems they had with EQ1. For example: my car can reach top speeds of up to 180, Will it ever hit those speeds? nope (yea I'm pussy, I kno. But I like being able to walk, and form coherent sentences). Will EQ2 ever hit lv 200? I highly doubt it, and I would hate to be a new player in that game.

I actually dont want Velious next
i think its time for Gates of Discord or Planes of Power
hell even Burried Seas would rock I just love Soltharis thats imo the best designed Raid Zone ever
Velious and Luclin werent by all means my favourte expansions

Id really rather see PoP coming next without a level increase a whole expansion tailored for raiding
and Dungeons of Norrath or Depths or Dark Hollow as an Adventure Pack

or something totally new but I honestly dont wanna go back to Fawyder in the 14th expansion

yeah level 100 should be the absolute maximum
and even that would be too much to get new customers in
it should stay 80 for the next 4 expansions and then a level increase by 5 levels not 10 just because WoW is increasing the cap every year by 10 levels doesnt mean we need that in EQ2 too

The guy I asked said they didn't have ANY pre-orders available, but wouldn't tell me how many boxes were going to be available on launch day.
Best Buy doesnt get EQ expansions until Thursday, 2 days later, however EBX (Electronics Boutique) always has them on launch day

I believe they should not have raised the level cap with DoF, and then they could have raised it with KoS, and kept them the same through EoF, and just now we would be reaching lvl 70. A much better situation for still drawing in new players than lvl 80. Regardless, I agree that no matter what they shouldn't up the lvl cap in the next expansion. Flesh out AA's, provide some fixes, and some new content, and it will rock. It's similar to how KoS and EoF are now in relation, except you can make the progression even smoother with the lessons previously learned

I much rather the planes be done in free updates like they originally were done in EQ1

Or at least in Adventure packs, I really think expansions should be reserved for once every year or two, maybe every year and a half and should include a lvl increase, if only like 5 lvls.

Default Re: Level Increase and The NEXT Expansion

2 expansions a year , 1 with a lvl increase (catered mostly for capped players like this ROK one) and 1 with an across the board increase in content with particular emphasis for capped players (say 20% raid , 30% heroic instance and shared dungeon, 50% across the lower lvls).

Even then the above could be shortened to say 9 months between lvl increases.

Been at 70 too long, relative power to mobs is way too high and to many people the content is trivial.

The longer between lvl caps increases the gap between raiders and non raiders unbalancing levels and this makes it very difficult to balance content.

That's because progression in EQ1 is a lot slower than EQ2.
