Yeah, I've read that before too, but I don't buy it. Blizzard doesn't have 100% of the gaming market on lock down, there's not any reason why SOE can't promote a product if they wanted to.

I pre-ordered my copy almost a month ago from Gamestop...got a call on Monday saying it would be in by Noon Tuesday, went in to get it, and nothing. Was called later Tuesday and told (by recording) that they apologized for some sort of shipping error and that the game should be in by Noon Wednesday. Wonder if I get store credit or Sony credit, either way, I may actually get to play tomorrow. ~Xant~

This is a bullshit argument. That may be the case in terms of literal promotion, i.e., putting up banners, or displays, or the like, but stocking has nothing to do with that. I was incensed earlier that neitehr best buy near me had a copy, and I got the last copy from my local gamestop. Meanwhile, there were plenty of Lord of the Rings online boxes, and Tabula Rasa boxes... so I call total BS on this :P

they don't ask for exclusivity. The answer is quite simple, it's a supply and demand thing(cept reversed from the normal thinking of the concept). The demand for the game is not there, therefore they don't stock the game. WoW on the other hand, has a large demand, therefore they keep the game on the shelves. There shelf space is valuable, therefore they fill them w/ items that will sell.

I would be willing to be that the majority of people do Digital Download anyways because they want to play it that day. To many of us have had these experiences where the long download time is far less troublesome then the hunt to find a box.

This may be why you see less of them in the stores, as well as it is just not as popular as other games. But keep in mind, wow has no option to digital download as far as I know, at least it didn't when the expansion came out, hence greater demand in stores so they care more.

Veterans Day was not invented after they organized shipping, so its not a valid excuse.

if i can call (insert shipping comapny of your choice here) and ask when and how to organize shipping of x amount of items of size so and so then soe can surely do that to....
