After reading these boards for some time i just couldn't resist making account just for this. If you read these boards youre probably familiar with who gets what with RoK, and so far, from what i've seen so far, the general consensus is that Dark elves and arasai are overpowered and some classes like berserkers, coercers, and others are getting shafted, especially whithin their class (i.e. zerker compared to guardians or coercers compared to illusionists).
many people are complaining and i can see the reasoning in this. quite frankly i agree, the dark elf/arasai racial ability is overpowered, though not nearly as much as many here would claim, and some classes are getting more than others with this expansion. But, at this point, to request things like a race change or deciding to betray and change your class is utterly and completely asinine.
I mean seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you people? OK, maybe some classes/races are overpowered right now, but come on, the expansion hasn't been out even 1 fucking day. imho, if you betray your class based on what you've heard or seen in a fucking beta... you're kinda stupid. you've got to agree that SOE is well known for fixing stuff long after content goes live. (DoF carpenter writs anyone? insane ranger damage from procs in early KoS?)
at the very least wait a few weeks, maybe a month, to see if SOE does anything about it. i mean really, would it kill you to be patient? Lets say you betray now from zerker > guard as many have been saying they intend to do, what are you gonna do if in a week from now zerkers get a buff or guardians a nerf to balance the classes out a bit more? i'll tell you what you're gonna do, you're gonna bitch and moan about how zerkers are overpowered, or your're gonna betray back. same goes for races, if they gave an option for a race change everyone would become a dark elf or arasai and if a week later they were brought in line with other races, you would begin to bitch and complain saying you wanted your preffered race back. I hope they fucking give everyone a race change once only so that all you morons can become a dark elf and then when the races are balanced out you get stuck as one, despite liking another race more.
so in conclusion, to everyone who would, given the chance, switch their race to a dark elf or arasai within 1 week of RoK launch solely for the racial ability or would betray to a different class solely on the percieved imbalance between the 2 subclasses (not because they want a change in roles, such as from betraying assassin to ranger because they want ranged dps instead of melee or whatever), Fuck You. Have some fucking patience and wait it out. if nothing changes, then by all means betray, but don't do it so soon after the exp pack goes live. The amount of angst i have seen on these forums and the official ones concering dark elves is just unbelievable.
btw, i don't usually post flames like this, but for some reason this really got under my skin. and for the record, i'm not saying that there isn't a problem. there IS a problem, its just that you sould wait a bit to see if it gets fixed. yes you should complain about this imbalance, i have no problem with that, to get stuff fixed you have to complain about it. i realize this.
