I'm sure there's lessons Sony will learn from the patcher calamity this time. I didn't suffer because I had the beta files, but I know a lot of people who did.

Delaying the EU go-live was a really fucking annoying thing to do. We're only talking about 40 minutes, but that's enough time for those on EU servers who care about ww 1sts (I couldn't give a shit personally) to be disappointed.

The way Grimwell worded it was a bit like 'go go US servers, go get your discoveries, we won't let the EU servers log in until you've got all the easy ones'.

Suprised the players on EU servers are annoyed? I expect you're not. Does anyone care? No. Why does anyone on EU server bother complaining about being treated like shit? Don't know, it never fucking changes anything.

Is RoK worth it? Yep. Was I still dinging 72 whilst most of you were still at work? Yep.

Ya know, I didn't have any beta files. When I got home yesterday afternoon around 5:10pm, I fired up my pc and began downloading about 20 min worth of files. I stopped and started the game, downloaded about another 10 min worth. I finally found a good link to purchase the expansion. I restarted eq2 1 more time and had about another 22 min I think. That was it. I don't know why things went so smoothly for me and horrible for others.

My experience wasn't all horrible, but they still should have enable the incremental download pre-launch as they had indicated they would.
