Screw my class, my race, but not my money
I posted this on the official forums, but probably it will receive more attention here, so:
Station dot com changed some time ago, about 2 months if I remember correctly. It automatically defaults the currency used to the one of your country. After what I'm considering pretty much a scam from SoE, I noticed that it can be changed, but it doesn't make sense as you'll be paying in your local currency anyway, it will be the CC company applying the currency rates.
We come to RoK digital download: station store had it for sale sometimes yesterday, when the servers were back up, I manage to get in my account options and select the option to purchase RoK at 39.99$ (US dollars). I got my billing confirmation on email saying that I paid 37.99 (Euro).
Now, why in hell something that is priced at 39,99 dollars, such as the aforementioned RoK expansion, should be costing 37,99 euros?
I guess there is a mistake somewhere, given that the conversion is 1.47$ = 1 (slightly less as it was 1,469 this morning) or maybe no one at SoE can do math, or they really think the 2 currencies exchange at 1:1 ratio.
The direct conversion for 39.99$ is
27.2~
In the EU we have to add the 20% VAT bringing this total up to about 32,7... still robbing me money for a digital download with no added cost for distribution or whatever. It's only 5.2 (for both the accounts I'm paying), not a big deal per se, but it's a matter of money, so everything is a big deal.
So dear SoE, I'd really really like an explanation, but more than that, give me back the money I do not owe you, thank you. I think that after paying you since early 2001, I have the damn right to complain if you overcharge me.
I also checked my monthly sub priced at 15$+VAT, it equals to 17.62$ which are 12~ euros, yet I pay 13.6 (12%~ more).
I don't want to stand up in the middle of the night to call their horrible phone customer support, but I'm not letting this pass unobserved. So whoever from SoE is reading this site, send a memo to your billing department, as I'm going to get seriously pissed if I don't get this issue looked upon asap.
If you consider 5+ as "costs" (12%~ on top of the xpac cost), I won't pay you for one day longer.
