Re: The End Game, whats the point?
I don't get it, What's one thing that EVERY SINGLE RAIDERS WANT? MORE CONTENT. "THE END GAME" is not suppose to be the end of the game. You should be excited that theres a new level cap and a new tier of gear. If you're leet then you shouldn't have a problem advancing pass the legendary gears of the new expansion. Here's what you do, 1st week of expansion = grind. 2nd week of expansion grind, questing, exploring. By end of the 2nd week your guild should be raiding at full force.

-OP gets into a raiding guild and can't cut the mustard. He's butthurt because he wants into a #1 guild, but can't hack it in a #2.
-He takes a few jabs at hardcore raiders in general and then asks for serious responses to a question that is answered by looking into the mirror.
-It is agreed upon that he just sucks at the game and should diaf.
-Then someone tries to light up a rerun of "Casual vs. Hardcore" and it won't catch fire because everyone is apparently playing the game or reading the RaR on the Human Torch, his slut wife and some cheeseball Rico Suave roleplaying dipshit.
That about sum it up?

I just wanted to quote that and highlight the bits I found funny so the people who know what the following sentence means will get a good laugh.
He was in Five Rings.
I really hope that time spent raiding on Beta did them some good, because apparently their guild leader is a tool, or the players (the ones they've got left) can't play worth a damn. Maybe both.

You act like going out and getting drunk with your friends is some huge accomplishment compared to staying home and raiding with people. At the end of the night, what have you accomplished? Nothing. Maybe a little male bondage, and a little time off your life depending on what you consumed, but other than that, nothing of note. Does that mean you wasted your time? No, because you enjoyed it, and that's all that matters in the end.
It seems to me that you just don't enjoy raiding. If that's the case, then don't raid, but it's retarded to come here and act like you're better than those of us that do raid because you spend your freetime doing pointless shit that (to you) is somehow less pointless than the shit we do.

That's fine.. as long as raid gear is on the same echelon as crafted and pvp gear. Otherwise it's the developers of these games advocating one certain playstyle over all others.
Which, at least back in February, was the case with raiding. I'm considering coming back now, but I definitely won't if it turns out locking of combat xp was removed. There are games whose pvp doesn't involve reliance upon raid gear.

I don't think people would be very happy being rewarded with items that are not better than crafted crap after hours of raiding. And there's no need for fabled gear for non raiding characters. Devs give you a game to play and if you don't want to play the whole game but only a few aspects of it that's ok. But I cannot see how Devs advocat one certain playstyle. They even gave you PvP although EQ2 originally was intended to be PvE-only.

I can't speak for hardcore raiders, but I think that if I were still in college, I'd probably be in a hardcore raiding guild.
The general perception is that raiders are players with too much time in their hands. In my case. it's the opposite. I raid because I don't have that much play time available to me.
In our guild, raids are scheduled. People joining the raid sign-up on our boards and we know in advance which classes need to be filled up by friends of the guild, allied guilds, etc. Also, we have a rough idea of how much time a raid will take. So I log in, play the game, log out when the raid is done. No time wasted going LFG or winding up with a really bad pick-up group.
In other words, raiding is a very efficient use of game time...
...assuming no one screws up.
All the members of a 24-man raid have paid to play the game. If I screw up when I solo, I just waste my time. If I screw up in a raid, I waste the time and money (virtual and real) of 23 other people. As such raiders are obliged to play at the highest level that they reasonably can.
I can understand the feelings of the raid leader. Regardless of who screws up, the raid leader is ultimately responsible for the success of the raid. The raid leader put in more time to organize the raid and no one wants to see his/her time wasted. That's not enough reason to treat fellow guildies like dirt though.
