5 and a half hours extra download after installing rok from DVD?

k so i put the game on 2 computers today. one of them had a working DVD drive, so i used that, the other one i just put the account key in and patched it from launchpad (yes the whole expansion). the one which just downloaded the expansion only took about 2 hours total on standard comcast cable. now, the one i just installed from DVD on my home computer, has an estimated 5.5 hours (both with download all additional shit now checked), on comcast business cable (2MB faster here). how the FUCK did this happen? was it the fact that for some reason the installer decided to copy the entire game as of the DVD printing, and im repatching the live update i got yesterday? this is seriously bullshit. went in and stopped it, i still have 2 hours left to download, when downloading the entire expansion + patch took the same amount of time. thanks SoE /rantoff. my in game settings better not have all been changed to default, that could take hours to fix =/

okay stage 2. so im downloading mp3s for the zones now. wait, whaaat? i thought i installed the entire game?!?!? turns out that it didnt even install RoKs files at all when i used the DVD version. thank you soe you fucking bastards. anyone else notice this happening also? or did they totally fuck the entire expansions files so even though i technically installed it its gonna download the whole thing anyway. /sigh 1 hour to go

lmao yea just make sure you hit stop download, prefrences, and hit download as i play for optional shit. usually i dont worry about the extra wait since it lags me to hell downloading in game, but im just training around exploring right now so its not a big deal. and yay just now as i was typing this my download decided to stall, good thing i came in to get my shaver or i would have had an extra 20 min on the DL (shave n a shower ftw after a rough day)

Thanks for the reminder about that option, I had completely forgotten about it and have had it unchecked for like two years.

You're probably in the same boat as me and a few others - the patcher randomly decides to download shit you already have. I'd be willing to bet money that on the 2nd machine you'll be forced to patch AGAIN after you finish that and get into the game.

Yeah me too.

Funny added story, after the first 40 min patch (thought I was done) I logged in to make a Sarnak only to find a couldn't. Log out and notice I have "new content to enable" so check the box, 20 min patch. Yay! Time to make a Sarnak! Nope, not only can't I make a Sarnak but I can't make Fae either now.... 5 hours of patching later everything is up and running though.

It was pretty simple for me => copy beta files over to life version.
patch few mins, and wait for the servers to be unlocked =)

If you already had all the updates on one machine, why didn't you just copy your paks/ and music/ folders over to the one that hadn't updated yet? 100Mbps beats your internet download speed.

Not that I'm saying you SHOULD HAVE to do this (thank you SOE for making useless DVDs!) but it's easier on your temper. Made my husband less growly, at least.
