Thanks.
Of course, sorry. The legion of upset CL members made me jump to a brash generalization.

Those indeed are good guidelines.
There definitely was guild chat discussion about this. However I had stopped doing this before Gaige brought it up as an exploit, yet I was still rolled back almost 6 levels. I just don't see a 75% gain justifying a 575% loss.

Repeating a repeatable quest, tagged as repeatable, and obviously intended to be repeated is not an exploit. It was giving decent xp and took less concentration than running around doing the various other quest lines, so i decided to grind on it. That was the first repeatable quest I came across in ROK, so had nothing to compare it against - so if it was rewarding too much xp, then that is something that isnt obvious - and really, is SOE's fault - not something they should punish their customer base for getting wrong themselves.

The people who started exploiting it were the people from disso who logged in and out to force quest steps to progress without actually doing it themselves - they are the only ones that should be seeing the punishment that is being mass-applied to everyone who even touched that quest in any form.

PS I have at 312 unspent AAs as of typing this and keep getting more each time i zone - wonder if there is a cap.

The hilarious thing to me is this is our 'elite' players in top guilds pulling this shit. Not random scrubs from shitty guilds trying to catch up, these are the same guys that harp on the game being ez-mode and want it to be more hardcore. Then they come here and cry about it, lol

If the leaders of these guilds had any balls these people would have had their ass booted without a second thought. But the sad state is, there are so few hardcore people left, they are forced to deal with this bullshit or be behind when raiding starts up.

I can't wait to hear more lame ass excuses as to why this was justified.

edit: btw I am referring to the scrubs that logged in and out, although the other people aren't much better, at least they have a shred of an argument.

I disagree. Sure, anyone who logged in/out is exploiting, period. But abusing a quest that was unintentionally awarding excessive combat and achievement experience is still exploiting. You really thought SoE intended for you to level off picking up a shineys? Even Gaige could spot that and he's not the brightest bulb.

/yawn, wish people would get this right finally - it wasnt awarding any achievement xp - just regular xp - and it wasnt much at that - around 1.3 - 1.6% each time - less than other quests in fact.

Hey, hold your horses. The quest didn't give any more adventure experience than most other quests and only awarded achievement experience once. In your post it seems like the reward for this quest was way out of line, when it really wasn't. (If you completed it the way it was intended.)

It was simplistic in nature and short in duration requiring little downtime. That makes it incredibly imbalanced in comparison to other quests which require both travel time and ingenuity to complete. The deaf, dumb, and blind excuse only goes so far.

That said, I wish they could have reset the experience given by that quest and not used rollbacks. That's unfortunate.
