Who is the best raiding guild in EQ2 so far? - Page 2

How would you even rank best raiding guild in eq2 so far? Would you only look at the most recent tier or all tiers and where they placed on a world wide level?

Dissolution didnt form until the last month of t5, so if your looking at the entire duration of the game, obviously disso is not the best raiding guild in eq2 history.

Each of these guilds were at the top end of the content. Some of them have died out or moved on but in their time they were very good for whatever reason.

One thing you can say about the guilds that are on top today is that never in eq2 history has there been such a "race" for content. Ardent Legion was way ahead in their time, Ascendence in theirs, and Malice during DoF, but now there is a real mystique as to who or what guild will kill things first. It makes it more fun.

Perhaps someone can school me in EQ2 lore, but weren't Ascendence and Ardent Legion the same guild? Or was it Ascension or something that sounds like Ascendence.

ascendance beat brutal acts and sotl first, ardent legion beat darathar first. both have moved on. For guilds that have been near the top of the content for the most stable and longest period of time though the # is a bit smaller. i would have to say npu sd tribunal ec and its looking like disso and EL will be here to stay.

I dunno where i read on here that ec only started raiding seriously in tier7, we've been at pretty much the same point in the content every tier, some members we picked up decided to get noisy on forums since tier7 tho idk why. I'd say cl too but im not sure how long they were around or if they formed late in tier5.

i would have to disagree with ascendance being way ahead of anybody. They beat sotl by a few days, many guilds had it dead within a few days after. Brutal acts they beat early but this was before the encounter was completely fixed and the commanders epics adds were not reassisting during faroth mal, so they could just be ignored as they walked off. And if anyone remmembers that fight, killing all those adds and those crazy 4k divine hitting shamans were the hardest part about brutal acts. Either way even after that was changed brutal acts was killed soon after.

AL i agree was far ahead of the rest, but darathar and the rest of the prismatic line was a complete joke; every guild i know of that did prismatic before darathar was patched killed darathar their first night in. Darathar was patched on april 8th, when he was made challenging, but then repatched again less than a weak later into a final, more gimp but not completely gimped form. AL somehow got the runes ridiculously quicker than anyone else, which put them weeks ahead of anyone else on the whole thing

Why did you put EL and CL ahead of your own guild, EC?

EC has world firsted things, EL and CL have not.
EC is always in the top handful of guilds to kill things, neither of those two guilds can say that.

Dont discredit yourself so much.

oh was that in response to me hehe i didnt mean to imply any order to guild quality in my posts if it was. I tihnk its hard to really rank guilds any ways as theres so many variables.

If i did have to think of distinguishing elements I would have to say npu probably impresses me the most with how long they have been able to stay where they are.

As far as most impressive accomplishment i am still amazed that anyone beat juranata with no rings, and anyone who beat djinn master before tier7(9k blasts ftl), those fights stick in my mind as harder than anythign in tier7 imo.

actually on bloodline we were only like 16 hours behind ascendance, while getting the patch a day later, similar with that k'dal instance and a few contested that changed often back then... so at least for us it was always a nice challenge and not "way ahead"

but well.. i think the interest in raiding of the community overall was much lower than it is now and 2nd or 3rd were never even mentioned, due to that.

Ascension was the guild in eq2 Beta. Some of them ended up not playing when it went live. Those that did ended up starting Ardent Legion.

A good guild has an Ishbu in it.

Therefore Dissolution is the only good guild in the world.

A bad guild has a Kalidon in it.

Therefore EL sucks balls.
