"Warp Hacking"
Figured I would ask here because I don't have a clue what it is. Well anyway I got banned on Friday for what I assumed was due to the logging in/out exploit which I guess is understandable until I got a reply to my petition today.
Greetings Cochy,
Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment In-game Support!
I received your inquiry regarding the disciplinary action your account recently received and your concern that it was not warranted. I have reviewed the documentation regarding the disciplinary action and have discovered you’re your account was banned for warp hacking. As you have requested, I have escalated your petition to a supervisor for further review. After your issue has been reviewed by a supervisor, you will receive a reply regarding your situation as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience while we address this for you.
So can anyone please explain to me wtf I got banned for. The rollback I can deal with as it was probably justified but being banned for 3 days so far for something I don't even know what the hell it is seems completely wrong to me. All I want is for my account to be unbanned so I can at least catch up in levels and play this expansion.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
Well, I run a dual core AMD that's a little over 1.5yrs old but i only run one video card.
Occasionally, if Ive been in game for a long period of time (several hours) or if i have not rebooted my machine for several days, I get this wierd glitch where I run at what seems like about 2x the normal PF speed.
Its so bad at times that I can't actually fight that way because my warp skilz are apparently weak and i have to completely shut down and cut power to my machine before it will go away.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
Install this and it should fix your problem.
AMD Dual-Core Optimizer - The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized.

But on the side note, I don't buy the you didn't know it is happening excuse. I use to have the same problem, either I Was at 4 times faster or slower the regular ame speed. Don't tell me you never relogged eq2 casue you are moving like 1/4 of the speed.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
Wow, Sony has seemingly never banned someone on pvp for warp hacking, screen dragging, or any other exploit related to movement that I have heard of, but on a pve server where something like that wouldn't really affect other players, they ban/suspend with no warning...nice

Re: "Warp Hacking"
I run an Intel duel core so can't patch for AMD and secondly I have never abused a run speed mechanic before so I am at a loss.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
The speed at which you do things in game - such as running, tradeskilling, etc, is based on the speed of the clock in your computer.
So you increase the speed of your clock, and you do everything faster in game.
This has got to be the easiest to see and catch and the most bannable offense in game at this time, so anyone who does this is retarded and deserves what they get.
I'm not saying you've done it Cochy.

Because you can do all the solo quest at 1/4 of the time. And you will never have to worry about training since nothing will ever catch you. Matter of fact, when you are bugggedddd youuuu sstttaarrttt toooo tttyyppee liiikkee thhhat iinnn gaaaammmee. So if you see that shit from a guildie, tell them to patch that shit before they are banned.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
The only thing I can think of is getting petitioned for doing all my quests at 80% run speed due to Droag Scale swill, pathfinding and AA's but that isn't even close to duel core speeds.

Re: "Warp Hacking"
I remember seeing post (almost a year ago) about people getting warned for speed hacking, when it turned out there was an issue with dual cores and EQ2. From what I remember they patched EQ2 to fix the issue, but in doing so killed some of the performance on dual cores.

I have never seen him type like that or run at godly speeds, though the lag since ROK on nek has been so bad that people at least on my screen are warping all over the place. Don't know if that could be it due to some false petition.
