Halls of Seeing and Lyceum were:
a) Meant to be in KoS originally and just not ready for launch.
b) Three hours of content combined.
Seriously, from playing the solo stuff in beta it's obvious they're trying to make the game more casual-friendly like WoW, and who can really blame them? EQ2 has what, 300k subscribers? And how many of them are hardcore raiders? No more than a quarter, probably way less. So that's a potential 75,000 people quit (I know the figure's way less, but I can't be bothered to look for stats). Now look at WoW, 6,000,000 subscribers. There's a far bigger market, and who cares if they lose a few raiders if they can tap into that? The raiders will likely go to Vanguard anyway, so SOE will hardly be losing any money.

I am honestly surprised you are not in beta yourself LFG...
Having said that I tried it all morning since about 6 am, and let me tell you I am not impressed.
They have nerfed mitigation on all of my armor, my weapons dmg rating has been lowered. The marr's fist is even worse than it was before... I mean before I was not even motivated enough to finish my claymore series for it. I did notice however that they did not nerf the hand of destruction from Princes, so maybe they are finally making contested loot worth something.
The new zones themselves are nice to look at, but with the changes made to the gameplay... It is just pretty gfx trying to cover up a pile of shit.
I was in one raid zone earlier, not with a raid force but with a beta buffed lvl 70 gnome ranger... The raid zone is setup like every other zone (from initial looks) that has a similar theme (the deep cavernous type riverbed with big mushrooms everywhere and big roots for bridges). The lack of originality in this game becomes more apparent daily (think of SoS and every zone in KoS that is setup the same way).
The new capes make you look like you went to some crappy halloween costume store and got the 5$ superman costume from the used rack. They do not fit with the game, and look silly(see above).
I for one am not buying the expansion, and still, as of this post, my account expires november 9th,2006.

Did you know that Halls of Seeing and Lyceum were planned for release? And actually in the Prima Strategy Guide for KoS?
So far, there has been no encounter that wasn't bugged/overly hard on release that wasn't defeated within a month. Matron was, let's face it, impossible at TFD launch, not to mention it despawned if you tried it, so you lost a week of trying. That is the main reason why Matron took forever, because you would have to pull it, try to figure out the strat, then servers restart the next day, and you're shit out of luck for a week or so, which just destroys trying it because of that. Chel'Drak was, also again, nearly impossible at TFD launch as well. I'm sure it could be beaten, but it would be really hard, although doable.
Until a month before KoS came out, DMP was a bitch and a half due to DM floating around and playing havoc with the instrument placements due to how small the center sphere was for where he had to be.
I'm sorry, but lets look at this. A pickup raid can clear to Wuoshi in Emerald Halls, including the nameds before him. A pickup raid can clear the first 2 nameds in Freethinker's Hideout. I'm sorry, but a pickup raid should NEVER be able to clear that far in 1 try. Unless the difficulty on these zones is changed, and changed FAST, which would mean that the beta-testing isn't doing their job because they're not beefing up the encounters. Which strikes the question again, why isn't anything changing to make these zones harder? Lyndro said(not his exact words), that the Clockwork Menance is the only zone on-par with KoS Difficulty(he didn't go into say what he means by that), and everything else will scale UP from there. I'm sorry, but a pickup raid shouldn't be able to clear anything else according to that, because the difficulty should be so far up, that everything should be at Tarinax, Chel'Drak, Matron level difficulty and go up from there. Just hearing about a pickup raid getting to a final named in a zone makes me think that the difficulty isn't there.

Man it would own if someone started a post on secondary tradeskills and explained this, who can use them, how they work, what they do.
I have no clue, yet I have many crafters.

In their current form, secondary tradeskills aren't intended to be used, atleast thats my guess.

People arent jumping the gun if they have already seen what EoF late game content has to offer.
Also you stated in that post that "SOE is not stupid" - sadly - they are.
I mentioned this to quite a few people on beta. I really believe they should delay the expansion for however long they need to READ ( read is the key word here because they dont do that ) the complaints and suggestions ppl place on the beta boards and then adjust the game.

We just did clockwork factory, the mob died on our 2nd pull, it was way too easy. Took us a total of a grand 30 mins to finish the zone.
