In the other SOE game I used to play, Planetside, they actually had ads in game. You'd walk into the transport area, and HEAR trailers for crappy movies or army recruiting commercials and such.

They claimed it was because the populations were low, so they needed more money to continue developing the game and for new updates... yet they've still seen no major changes.
