grind exp
I'll have to say the means of levelin in the game has took a turn for the worse in my opinion. I for one hate questing. It seems that the only way now to get decent exp is to turn yourself into a quest whore. I miss the good ol days of the grind.

Re: grind exp
Maybe don't pick up a game where half the title is "quest" and the first half is "ever" and when combined implies you will be forever questing.

That's right, and according to that vision we should get rid of all tradeskills, mining, harvesting, weapon, armor, or spell drops from mobs, and there should not be any fluff like inn rooms or houses. Because you bought a game called everquest, so therefore there is obviously no room for anything other than that in the game designers vision !
Yes, Bigguss, you ARE that retarded. Just wanted to clear it up for you in case you had any doubt.

No, you pretty much are. Housing items come from quest rewards, tradeskilling is done to create items with which to further quest.
All I was saying, which you apparently missed is, if you want a grind game, this is not one that implies it will be a grind game. Moron.

Re: grind exp
Why is he a retard for wanting his preffered style of play to have some support? These answers like "It's everquest, so therefore you should be questing" are tired, trite, and unproductive. And tradeskilling doesn't always help you quest more... it wasn't until later that carpenters made anything that helped you quest. They made house items and that was it. So your whole thought process is skewed. If you look again and again, so many of these posts have popped up, and all generally saying the same thing.
Quest xp is fine, we have no problems with soloing being a viable path toward advancement and xp. However, we do not want it to be the clear choice for risk/reward. Please make heroic content in dungeons, or "grinding" some call it, a viable method of gaining xp that is just as good of a choice as soloing.
Now, is it that unreasonable for people to ask for alternatives? For them to not wish to feel forced to play a certain style? Is it unreasonable for those who don't like questing to have an alternative? I can speak for myself that I was very impressed when I played eq2 the FIRST day. I thought to myself "wow, mobs that are meant to be soloed. That means that everyone can have fun. If you don't have a group, you can solo, there are mobs made just for that!" It was a clear and concious effort to part from eq1, where only certain classes could solo, and if you would have talked to someone about a "Solo mob" they would have thought you meant one that was standing alone so you could pull it without starting a train.
Bottom line, this game has room for all playstyles, but it seems that just like many complained about the removing of many heroic mobs in overland zones long ago, that those who like questing and soloing feel a need to degrade others who don't like that playstyle.
I have seen no one pissing in the wheaties of those who like to solo all the time and do solo quest after solo quest. But I've seen a LOT of those who like to solo secretly (or not so secretly in some cases) happy that those who like to group got the shaft.
