Is it worth coming back for?
Ok, so I recently went back to the EQ2 main site to look for the system specs to prove a point to someone. I saw Rise of Kunark and got drawn in quickly, only have my intrest sparked again by playable Sarnak and the return of Neriak. For a bit of backround, I quit early in EoF because my guild fell apart and frankly it just got really boring, I had completed essentially every non grey (and most grey) quests in the expansion within a month, couldn't really raid anymore and even when I did get to raid we weren't really making any progress.
What I'm asking for is a breif synopsis of how the game is different now, any major changes to either of my LV70's (Brigand and Inquisitor, Brigand with high end KoS and a little low end EoF raid gear and Inquisitor with a few pieces of Labs stuff) and if all of the new additions are more than the same shit new smell deal I found in EoF. Thank you in advance, I feel this is the only place I can go for honest oppinons on the matter, from the 20 minutes I spent looking at the EQ2 main website's forums I see nothing has changed there.
Also, what was the reward for those new claymore quests? I kinda want to laugh at how worthless it probably ended up being. Qeynos Killiji ftw?

If you do decide to come back, chances are you will have problems accessing your station account and there servers are playing Russian roulette so you won't be able to play anyways. Also, customer disservice is on the rise and you still can enjoy there non 800 number. Save the $$$.

Re: Is it worth coming back for?
Ok, no big changes there. SoE customer 'service' is no biggie, I put up with it in SWG, EQ2, and for a breif stint in Vanguard, I'll survive it. Unstable servers though? That was never a big issue before. Been taking a look at a lot of the changes myself though and so far:
1. The new item changes make the game look like WoW
2. Shittons of legendary items from no brain heroic instances that obsolete my fabled
3. Brigand lv80 skill is damned near useless, hooray, a spell built around giving other people better mitigation debuffs when my mitigation debuffs make everyone else's look like taking a piss in the ocean. Time to go look at Inquisitor changes to bring myself to my senses then.

Re: Is it worth coming back for?
Maybe on your server (nektulos), OP is on crushbone which is and has been in the top 3 populationwise behind AB and Naga. Populations come and go during new expansion time ya loose some old gain some new with EoF they gained alot of new that stuck around. We lost some when vg came out but then some came back after it flopped, lost some to LOTRO but some came back after they got bored quick with that. We have also gained a TON of ex wow and eq1 players, I meet new ones everytime I play my lower level alts that have just joined eq2.
Bottom line yes some servers are on the low end of things but crushbone your server is not having those issues and even when the people that are going to leave after they max at 80 and quit crushbone will still have a very large population. As it is now we almost have too many IMO but it will balance back out in a few months.

Re: Is it worth coming back for?
I think its worth coming back for but only if you can seperate what came before from the way the game is now. There is (IMO) a better attempt at progression even if the items don't always reflect it. You'll start off and think you're playing WOW with the millions of easy quests. Then you'll run instances to get semi-rare drops to prepare yourself for raiding and then you'll run raids that have been divided up into Tiers. There is lots to do and the game feels exciting to me again, but then again after 3 years I am starting to wonder if SoE crapped in a cup and called it fabled if I would farm for it.
