Started a Cleric 3 weeks after the Tribunal went live in EQ1 (Nov '99). Lvl'd her to cap each expansion - raided and did everything up to and including Anguish in Omens of War (trying to forget those days - forgive me if thats wrong).
Started another Cleric/Templar when Mistmoore went live - dinged 50 in Harclaves the night before DoF went live. Did the lvl to 60 and to 70 thing and just got tired of healing. Tried Vanguard as a Disciple, but we know how that turned out...
Fired up an Arasai SK when Neriak went live, now she's ready to ding 71. Gonna move the Templar to a 2nd account for boxing, might betray to Inquisitor, meh - well see.
I suppose SK is a good mix between damage and heals - alot like the Disciple in VG, but much easier to manage (no micromanagement

) Even with the problems the class has with aggro generation and whatnot, I have had lots of fun playing her and devote my time almost exclusively to my new main.
I recall that they nerfed our abilities to stack reactives - that was a major 'nerf' to clerics, changed some spells to a more crowd control type of thing, but really didn't do enough of it - EQ1 clerics had some very effective stuns - EQ2 clerics were always just shadows of that glory. 20 more levels (90 more actually) and 2 major expansions later, I honestly don't remember if it was truely THAT bad, for Clerics anyway.
