Re: Should contested Epics even be bothered with?
Who the fuck needs "movie maker" in their guild? You want make movies? sit near ppl killing stuff and film them. And in instances: nobody is going to take you, if you are not going to contribute to raid effort. 1 "camera-man" = 1 less raider = lesser chance of success.

See, Ive been at the top of the server game, and been in the guild who dominated shit, got world firsts and ganked contested epics from everyone else, (Tier 6, begining of Tier 7) and I still thought then, as I do now, that if that shit was instanced, everyone would have a fair shot, not he who was available to raid at 3am, 10am, and 4pm. Ive been on an on call available list, and Ive logged in at midnight when I got a phone call from my guild leader.

Stop using this argument, it is RETARDED. R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D got it?
Read this damn thread and you will find why.

Re: Should contested Epics even be bothered with?
Selective editing or not it is fairly obvious what has happened here. It looks like some of us(myself included) did not see your other bullshit thread.
You are angry because none of the high end guilds want to deal with you? It makes so much sense now. Instead of accepting the fact that you suck at this game you try to turn it into some kind of social issue.
PLZ, tell me what guilds this douche got turned down for...

I am available 24/7 to pop in and film something. but as far as being a permenant member of a raid force, Im sorry I just dont have the time. I am lucky enough to be able to stop whatever Im doing for a cool kill, and get in and film it, but as for the long hours required to master that shit, my real life time commitments wont allow it. If HOWEVER you would like someone who can fairly competantly make eq2 movies to film you shit, then Id be glad to provide that service. I then went on to say, I dont really care about loot even, though if you where to filter some trash loots noone else doesent want my way, it would prolly be an upgrade for me, since my gear fucking blows.
What reply did I get, from ALMOST every high end guild I asked? (except the one on my server, who ironicly, turned me down respectfully) a polite "no ty?"
FUCK NO- I got this: Fuck off you fucking n00b, noone wants a dirge who cant commit to 25+ hours a week, and who doesnt strive to be the best at this video game in the world. We are the elite, we dont need anyone whos not commited their life to EQ2 domination.
No respect, no decency. And that got me to wondering.....wtf? why the elitest attitude? Even if these arrogant cock jobs are better at me than this, why out of all the hobbies in the world do these guys have no common decency? Would an NBA star tell a kid who asked him to play horse on a public playground "Fuck off bitch, Im pro level you fucking gimp?" Somehow I doubt it.
So I found it quite interesting to see that on EQ2 flames, almost any topic that involves high end raiding, the super elite have this crazy "if you dont agree with us, your a fucking idiot" attitude pertaining to all things almost.
Someone said, should contested be bothered with? And I was like "not really, its kinda retarded only 1% of the people get to play the best shit when we all pay the same fee, and HOLYWTFBBQ, the contested came out of the woodwork like cockroaches to smack that shit down.
No matter how many times you try to explain the side of the casual player, you get crazy illogical responses, like "read the box dipshit!, it says contested killing right there! if you dont like it, dont buy it!" (I broke out my box when I got home and looked at it. Maybe I bought a different version than you, but mine doesnt say "contested" on it anywhere)
Why all this attitude in this genre? And then my buddy at the office enlightened me:Cause its not real. Its not the NBA, its not the NFL. Its a bunch of dudes with poor social skills trying to matter in some way, some where.
So I guess, in a way, you guys are right. In EQ2, Im a punk. A badly geared whiny bitch who thinks that his $15 is as good as your $15. A crying gimp who feels that his time investment is as good as your time investment.
Twist this post around to mean shit it doesnt all you want, I can argue my point anymore, because Ive come to the realization that no matter what you say, these same people with these same attitudes are going to feel entitled to being server dominating bullies forever, and no matter how much you try to argue your point, its like talking to a brick wall.
Lets pick another topic, this one has grown boring.

Does your fat pig of a wife know how much of a pussy you are? Do you at least get a reciept for your balls when she makes you do chores?
If you have kids, do them a favor and not tell them your philosphy on how the world should work, they may end up living in your basement killing avatars in eq4, and we know you don't want that.
"OMG....cl, disso, npu, strike, aftermath, SD, Xanadu and paradigm don't need some faggot filming them when any idiot can download fraps...DEATH TO CONTESTED!!!

Re: Should contested Epics even be bothered with?
Point made for me. No respect. No politenesss. You come to these cats with an idea, and instead of "no ty", You get fuck you pussy, you fucking gimphole.
Where does this atitude come from? Why dont people on the top of the game in other fields have this attitude? Why is it only pervasive in EQ2?
Because its not real, and the only people who care, are the people who are in the same position.
Sit around patting yourselves on the back and telling yourselves your the fucking shit all you want, the only people it matters to are the nerds in your nerd herd who do it with you, the rest of the world looks at you like your a fucking retard because you spend 10 hours a day doing it.
Enjoy the fact that your elitest boys club is on top. When someone else comes to you with an idea you dont care for, make sure to shoot that shit down as disrespectfully as possible. YOU are the NBA/NFL stars of EQ2, a highly competitive world class game that requires superior skills the normal person couldnt possibly comprehend.

for someone who seems so incapable of acknowledging the statements/facts in someones posts and then responding based on those statements facts you really shouldnt be casting aspersions on peoples debate skills, and that thing you said about ilogical arguments that made me lol irl
you see us as no lifers but you use terms such as "nerd herd" have an alienware laptop and are a self proclaimed audio/visual boffin

right.... because your posts in this thread have been completely cheery. in this thread. you earned their spite by being a jackass and acting like your way is the only solution for people to be happy. congratulations for bringing it on yourself.
as for getting turned down in a rude manner... i'd be willing to bet that any given high end hardcore "we kill contested" raiding guild has explicitly stated on their application page that they want players that will show up to raid all the time, and actually care about playing the game. obviously, that's not what you were interested in, but you posted your application anyway. if you don't read the rules, or choose to ignore them, then you deserve to get told off.

Correct. I came with an offer that they didnt want to participate in, and instead of "no ty, we require 100 hours a week playtime, have a good day" or "no ty, we dont really like the idea of being filmed" I got "fuck you faggot, you lesser being, how dare you speak to those of us on Mt. Olympus? why would we need you, you are not the l33t"
Interesting though, you feel that this gives them the right to tell someone off, by mearly speaking to them, and offering a service they may or may not have.
The next time some dude comes into my office, and says "Hi! Im from consulting firm X, and we would like to present you with a quick synopsis of what we can offer your company! Got a minute? Maybe we can talk for a sec and determine if you even have any interest in my service?" Im gonna make sure to stand up behind my desk, and indignatly shout " FUCK YOU MISERABLE FAGGOT! THIS IS LOCKHEED, INTERNATIONAL DOMINATOR OF AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE! DO YOU THINK YOU COULD POSSIBLY BE ON OUR LEVEL? DO YOU THINK WE DO NOT HAVE OUR OWN SERVICE PROVIDERS? BE GONE FROM MY OFFICE YOU GIMP BITCH!"
Then ill hit the conferance button and make sure my secretary and the receptionist both laugh and point thier finger while snickering at the dude as he exits.
Cause thats how the real world works, right? he should have known better than to come in here thinking he could provide us with anything. How dare he even ask if we where interested....

Obsidian,
Fuck yeah Im a nerd, a nerd of many flavors.
1) I like collecting vintage synthasizers and playing music. I own a recording studio (albiet a small one) and spend countless hours compulsivly editing music and video for friends and for my own projects. I am a music/video nerd to the core.
2) I love comic books. I watch Heroes like its biblical doctrine, and get excited when I find a super hero t-shirt I dont have yet, much to my wifes dismay. I am a comic book nerd to the core.
3) I play video games. I spend countless hours ignoring my responsabilities so that I can max my level, and then go kill imaginary shit that doesnt exist, with imaginary weapons I dont really have, so that I can steal its imaginary loot and equip it on a toon I dont really own. I am an EQ1/EQ2/DAoC nerd to the core.
I dont consider nerd a derogatory term, nor do I consider geek to be one. Im proud of who I am, and I dont need to hide the fact that I enjoy things alot of people tend to judge others for, or that I enjoy the company of a nerd herd more than the social elite.
I like nerds, and respect them. You can hate on nerds all you want, but honestly, remember this: We own EVERYTHING. The whole world is run by nerds of one flavor or another. Nothing to be ashamed of about that.
I have a firm policy about people who dont like who I am, what I say, or what Im about, and its stated clearly in my sig.

shrug- my company only adds intelectual tough guys to its roster, and sometimes, when we have some dude roll in whos under qualified, we laugh a bit amongst ourselves when he leaves. But I still am required to be respectful to him, and treat hm as a fellow human when hes sitting in my office. If I didnt, Id get fired.
it's an internet tough guy's world in eq2. sorry you found out the hard way.

Yeah, I feel ya there. being a hard ass from the safety of an anonymous internet connection seems like the norm. Kinda sad imo.

Re: Should contested Epics even be bothered with?
human nature it seems. take it or leave it.
edit... there's also no legal repercussions for discriminating against guild applicants in an online game. nothing to hold you back from laughing in someone's face.
