If there was a laptop made specially for eq2, I would piss my pants, move back home, and not buy a single thing till I had enough money for it..
With all the issues with eq2 and laptops (atleast for me) I would totally spend five thousand bucks.. why can't they do this? why? why why why why don't they do any of the cool special crap the WoW industry does!?
I WANT AN EQ2 THEMED LAPTOP DAMMIT!
PS, I can't see any of the images because I'm work, I assume they rock, but who knows..

$4,500 for a laptop that is essentially a commercial, 5 beta keys, and my own Prof action figure. Seems pricy, though the action figure does sound badass.

Been playin EQ2 on a loaded up XPS 1710 laptop since April and it ran flawlessly ever since.
Getting very good video 1900x1600 ish resolution and dont have to tweak vid settings for raids (running act, vent and firefox in background too)
Can't play on my desktop anymore ;p
Only issue with laptops is the battery will run dry in under 1h no matter what due to the video card sucking lots of power.

Blizzard keeps pressing on while SoE sits on there hands.
Whats also funny is that Sony makes a laptop already and Blizzard doesn't. Technically, Sony was ahead in the race but they didn't bother to show up.

My laptop (specs-Intel(R)Core2DuoT5250(1.5gHz/2MB L2), 2GB DDR2 System Memory, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS, & 240GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive,) STILL freezes up, lags, makes me have to turn my graphics settings low for raiding, etc.. it sucks. Posted stats if anyone wants to tell me WHY it still freezes and poops out on me, because the guy that helped me said it would be much much than my old laptop, that could run eq2, but had laggy, freezing and overheating issues. Only difference from my newer laptop is that it doesn't overheat.
It was 1,200$.. more expensive than my old freezing, overheating, lagging laptop, so I assumed it would be run eq2 flawlessly... but no it doesn't.
so i just wish eq2 had a special laptop that said it was made SPECIALLY MADE for eq2, so I could get rid of all my issues.
Everyone I just tell says that laptops will never be perfect and eq2 isn't supposed to run on laptops. sucks ass because its just not possible for me to sit down at a desk and play.. i need comfort and mobility or else I feel like I'm at my job cubicle..

Wow, but do all the fools that will throw away 4500 bucks on all that CRAP realize you can run WoW flawlessly on a Piece of shit Acer from fucking sams club for like 500 bucks?

I haven't run into any problems running EQ2 on a laptop - currently using a Lattitude D620 with ok specs. Used WinEQ2 to run 2 accounts on it as well.
Yeah - gotta tone down the gpx a little, but Ive always done that. Too many flashy spell effects or flora on the ground just detracts from the game for me. Usually I run on the standard 'performance' setting for ProfitReborn.
Never have liked shadows so they're always off, water effects too.
Got an older laptop with a dead harddrive that I used to run EQ2 on. the replacement drive is gonna run at 7200rpm, Im pretty sure that performance will be enhanced because of that.
If you are running log parsers and all that stuff on top of EQ2, a slow drive is gonna impact that to some degree. Ideally, laptops would be able to throttle drive speed based on a plugged-in or battery profile, instead of having slow ass 5400rpm drives dropped in them.

Im running an ASUS G1 with upgraded 4gig of ram and EQ@ is about the only game i don't have problems with.
On most other cames i have to try 5 times to get a game to launch before getting in.
