The waaaa-factor
Ok ok I have to post this cause I feel like talking and I'm bored. Not to mention servers are down.
So I have seen a growing complaint(mostly by noobs) about the lack of content for their lack of playtime. They personally find themselves deserving of the same loot and spell/ca upgrades as raiders or people who do heroic instances. Well all I can say is WHAT THE FUCK. Are you even kidding me? I mean by all means if there is a reasonable explanation for this I will listen but damn. If I raid I expect heroic groups to not touch my gear honestly, I mean why should they? Why should someone put forth the effort to put in lets say 25 hours of raiding in a week, only to get the same stuff as a solo guy. Honestly if you think that way I'd much rather you go play a different game because you suck. I wish they would make masters or even let's say Master 3's or something raid drop only. Not to say that solo people or even heroic groups should never get good gear, but that should not come close to a raider.
I agree they lack sometimes on content for this but the answer isn't to merge all this shit together and become "fair". The answer is to make it almost as if there are 2 game worlds of Everquest 2. You have plenty of solo activity to do then you can work your way to grouping and get better loot, and eventually you can raid and become your uber little self. I think this expansion is a step toward that direction with more solo content and not only non stop grinding xp in heroic zones. Although they did go a little ape shit wild with the solo content, the expansions have gotten progressively better IMO. Why don't we continue to constructively give our idea's and hope that dev's will listen. NOT complain about how we can't get the same shit playing 6 hours a week as someone who plays 30 a week.
By all means post your flames about how you suck and want the same shit as raiders, but remember that you're retarded. You should also possibly consider jumping your character off of a cliff when the servers come up.....that is all thank you.

What is it about raiding that makes it so vastly more deserving of better gear than soloing?
|
the fact that when raiding, you have to organize and get 24 different people to work in harmony to achieve a kill. And even then, you still may not have the skill in one or two people to pull it off.
Soloing can be done in your fucking sleep.

Re: The waaaa-factor
He's made an entirely new thread dedicated to the people that believe they're entitled to the same stuff raiders get b/c they pay same subscription fee, or <insert whatever excuse here>.
This is the same bitching that goes on and on in other threads, don't really see why it's here. Guess it's just a collective STFU to those that feel they're entitled without putting in the effort. Sticky IMO :P

The above message is brought to you by some random fucktard who thinks playing a game requires effort. The fucktard also firmly believes in the risk/reward illusion of a virtual (as in not REAL) fantasy world.

When you speak of soloing being done in your sleep, is this coming from the perspective of someone equipped in fabled gear with pretty much all masters?
Unfortunately, the petulant raider insecure that anyone else might get rewards on par to those decreed him by the devs is the epitome of what's wrong with MMOs. Developers decide that raiding would be the most rewarding form of gameplay, and now the raiders who have adopted this form of play above all else feel they are entitled to those superior rewards for all time in every game, and that to even think of rewarding some inferior style of gameplay is blasphemy.
It is high time developers get rid of raiding as the defining element of high-end gameplay, and kick the raider faction to the curb. There is so much potential in the MMO genre, it is a shame to see it spoiled by raiders who demand all games conform to their whims.

Re: The waaaa-factor
So 24 players, working to obtain a single piece of loot should only get loot on par with something a person soloing should be able to obtain?
If that is the case, why even raid?
Why even group?
Welcome to Duke Nukem!

Wanted to comment on the underlined part. Soloing can be done by anyone who can push buttons. Now the question is, can YOU push buttons?

why the fuck do you even need fabled? soloing can and is easily done in treasured gear, which is the only type of playing you seem to do.

Would you be happy if raiders got gear that was vastly better than solo gear, but only within the context of a raid? That is, it would have effects that only worked against epic targets, but against solo or heroic targets, was only slightly above average, on par with legendary gear?
|
Yes hence why people for a long time kept telling the devs to stop putting stifle/stun/daze/root/mezz/snare effects on epic armour that didnt effect epics.
