No devs should not be allowed in any guild on any live server, this is why they made a test server to have a sandbox to play in.

I remember being on test server one day and seeing someone killing naggy on the newb isle, quite interesting seeing a thread about test characters being moved to live servers. I find this funny becuase they say the characters were " scrubed clean ". Did they take off the xp bonus from test and subtract that from these players? Or what about quest that were bugged and easy to cheap, they get all those scrubbed? I think whom ever at SOE that did this needs to take a demotion for that decision.

The test server is the devs play ground, they run around and do what ever they feel they need to there. The live servers are Non SOE employee servers ............ its the servers thier paychecks originate from. Devs have tools to watch ingame on live servers and take logs of anything going on so they can analyze anything to death on live servers. This argument of devs need to play in hardcore raid guilds to understand eq2 is just rediculous.

If any one starts to whine and cry about there isnt enough of a population on test server to really test stuff .............. thats the devs problem for not providing more incentive for people going over there to test.

Also if a dev plays in a live server raid guild, make it public. Since the guild allows this and SOE allows this, that guild should forfiet any right to first discoveries, loot, aa, any thing to do with this raid zone/quest. Even if the dev gives no strats/help/favors it should be deemed as "insider trading" of strats . The public at large doesnt know and no one could ever prove this is going on from the client side, and most of us don't trust SOE's word, so we must defualt all who converse with dev to be cheaters.

So how bout SOE take a stand, anyone on a live server getting tells/help/guilded with a dev gets warning then banned. But of course the devs will be told not to speak with players at all or they will be fired. Pretty harsh right? Fair is fair though. I really don't see a gray area for how to handle this, its really a black and white issue. I'de just say no devs on live servers interacting with live players.

If people wanna go on test server to maybe get early hand at strats ........... good it builds the population on that server and any one can join test server. Once content hits the live server the starter pistol has sounded for many players, and some like going for the first of whatevers.

Side note on this, no more beta invites. I see too many threads of people saying this guild new exactly what to do right off the bat becuase they were lucky enough to get in beta. If you ( SOE ) want to have beta testing by the players, put it on test servers. Give everyone the opportunity if they want it. This will cut down on the allegations of favoritism as well.

EQ2 is the customers fantasy world, if we have devs on the live servers showing uber guilds or what have you that " there is no spoon " in our world of norrath ............ then why play? Competition is the driving force of alot of players and having devs alter this with strats, favors, whatever demeans many players sence of fun in the game. It starts building the attitude of why try, so and so's guild has dev so and so and they always kill such and such first second its out. Thats bad business SOE and you guys ain't exactly got the best reputation to go around finding new ways to piss customers off.

I'd say they should be able to raid, if there occupation is unknown. However we all know humans are flawed and as such theres no way to make sure this never happened.

That being the case, they should stay away from live servers and raid guilds.

Sure, I imagine a few kids would have been like 'oh well', but those that really put in the time and effort would have felt cheated, to say the least.

Hardcore Raiding is extremely competitive by nature, it's no place for someone who has that kind of influence over the game. It places your guild in a position of a clear, unintended advantage over those without devs.
It's not my opinion, it's what really happens, despite this thread, the devs will still continue to raid in raid guilds and give unfair advantages to those said guilds.

The only way to truely stop it is for everyone to cancel their subscription to eq2.

Tho I fully agree with you, it is bullshit and it shouldn't happen, but it does, and there's no real way ( besides wat I just said ) to stop it from happening.

If there was a way, then I would fully support it.

The clause idea u put in my post wouldn't work ( it would help, but it wouldn't be effective tbh ) because there are rules and laws written everyday and ppl just ignore them, so this can ( and prolly will ) be no different.

=/, that's why I have my attitude of "nothing I can do" bro.

The fact that he's open to suggestions and actually listens to the playerbase puts him miles above Lockeye. I think he's been doing an amazing job, and yes, pardon me while I remove my lips from his ass. I could careless what he looks like or does in RL, just as long as he keeps up the good work with my game...And stays the fuck away from raid guilds

While I have nothing personal against the devs, I believe when its comes to games like these, theres a line that shouldn't be crossed. Devs in those raid guilds crosses that line.
I got some bad news for you about Aeralik, he's in a raid guild already.

If what your saying is true, this has already gotten out of hand. At this point lets stop beating around the bush, go ahead and list the raid guilds that are know to have a dev(s) on their roster. Lets get this shit out in the open.

That was Gaige talking to Manyak in unhallowed-triad-unrest-moved-test-soe about their dev connection. So thats 1 guild right there that has/had a 'special relationship' with devs, Saints Of Norrath on the Blackburrow server.

Anyone have more? I'd love to get a list going.
