No. This is no more a reasonable assumption that Age of Conan allowing RMT, since FunCom is also part of this partnership.

What we are seeing is SOE and other publishers getting in to position to introduce established alternatives to the subscription model to North America. SOE has already announced that FreeRealms will have no subscription and be funded through virtual item sales, so I strongly suspect that it will be the first game to take advantage of SOE's new deal. The Agency is also rumored to use virtual item sales, so I wouldn't be surprised if it uses this as well.

I do not know what FunCom or Acclaim are planning to do, but both are involved in addition to SOE.

"SoE does not own Sigil. We will just be supporting them from the backend, taking care of server maintainence and distribution. You have nothing to worry about, Vangaurd is still under the developmental creation of Sigil, and we have no intention of meddling with that."

"We are happy to announce the acquisition of Vangaurd from Sigil by SoE..."

Good times.

Circumstances change, like Sigil collapsing, so I fail to see what you are trying to demonstrate.

All you are arguing is who your money is going to. So you're saying you will still play if the RMT money on your server is feeding the Sweatshop plat-farmers who spam us all day long or IGE but if it goes to SOE you quit? Fuck this "hear no evil, see no evil" shit and pretending it doesn't happen on "your server" IT DOES. So if you are truly so goddamn rightous about RMT make good those threats and quit or just shut the fuck up and take all that money you saved not buying plat and buy yourself a fucking clue.
QFT.

Half you people are probably just bitching about "I don't want to compete with somebody's wallet" cause you're so broke you can't afford a fucking clue.

And why should my tax bracket have anything to do my with proficiency in game?

You sound like the stereotypical trustfund baby, whose had everything handed to him, and now expects the same in his video games. Sorry, but if thats what your looking for go load up Oblivion and ~tgm. Now you can have your god mode, and save a few hundred dollars.

It shouldn't, and it never will. No matter how much you spend, if you suck, you'll always suck.

And you couldn't be farther from the truth if you'd tried.

So your saying gear has no influence on this game? Dont be a dumbass. You'd be an idiot to think your on the same page with your lengendary instanced gear, as someone who just bought an avatar geared toon.

Better yet that guy might not raid at all, he just bought it to have the best loot. Now imagine that on a PVP server, oh boy sounds like fun.

the big difference between official RMT ,like SE servers , and non official, is the freedom of choice.
Actually, if you dont want to spend RL money more than your monthly feee, you can. Because ppl cannot sell for RL money on non SE servers.Because nothing force you to spend RL cash for anything.
LoN ? you can play without spending money ,or you can avoid to play it. Choice.
you can buy plats with rl cash , or not.
Choice.
you can buy from broker with rl bough plats or not .
Choice.
you want to spend RL money for stuff, go on SE servers, else no.
Choice.

With RMT , you wont have choice anymore. You 'll have to spend this RL cash for everything.

The truth is, there is no answer either way - only time will tell. What I do see is a direction they seem to be headed in, but that's hardly evidence. But it's hardly an unreasonable connection to make either.

And I don't care what anyone says, as Arduros pointed out, take any potential forthcoming press release from SOE with a grain of salt.

I know I'll never believe a word out of them again.
