The point is we (on exchange servers) all understand that EVERY server is already like ours. The difference is we give our money to SOE and the people on your server give theirs to those people who spam you in broken english. It's not a matter of if you want RMT on your server or not, It's already there and closing your eyes, sticking your fingers in your ears while you singing "la la la I can't hear you" isn't going to make them go away.

Truth is on exchange servers the PLAYERS control the plat sells and the prices and the spammer/farmers don't focus as much on the exchange servers as it cuts into their profit. Plus why would you trust someone who barely speaks your language to deliver when you can have SOEs automatic system ensure you get what you pay for.

The war of RMT being on your server or not was fought and lost long ago. The battle now is who is going to control it, SOE or the 3rd world farmers. Given that choice I choose SOE. SOE is not spamming me (excluding their overactive LON advertising) SOE is not running bot squads stealing spawns, SOEs exchange service has actually helped reduce all that shit on my server.

In the end, everything you can buy on exchange is already for sell on your server. All the problems you describe with RMT in the game is already there. All the people who buy from RMT are already buying on your server. The only question is "who does the money go to?"

So it's time all of you wake the fuck up and stop living in denial and deal with the real issues at hand. Exchange isn't going to hurt your gameplay, it's going to help it by reducing the farmers/spammers just like it has on the exchange servers. Everything else stays the same.

Now the day SOE sells items/plat directly then you have a new battle but right now it's just who gets the money.

I have never RMTed, I never will. End of story.

If they implement this in EQ2, where SoE is putting real value on virtual goods AND sponsoring this action, I will have to leave the game. I will NOT put myself into tax liability over a game.

Now, this may never happen to EQ2, but I will damn well voice my distaste over this happening to maybe sway it FROM happening.

To access it? Yeah. To win at it or to gain a big advantage? No.
If all you can get with money is a nice but useless dress-up, why bother implementing that crap? Everything will be purchasable: loot, zones to hunt in, special abilities, you name it. Fork the bucks or play like a noob on the island forever.

One question: people mounted a case and a shitstorm hit the boards (these and official) for 3 dozen players having loot they didn't deserve (among other things).
Do you honestly think if money could buy this "favours", the same people wouldn't raise more shitstorms? Yeah, I thought so.

That's the whole point. You don't have a choice now. Thinking you do is just plain dumb denial. Do you have a choice of you yourself not buying plat? Yes. Is that because it doesn't exsist on your server? NO. How are people so dumb as to not see that?

It would be like me playing on the Bazaar and pretending the exchange doesn't exsist because I myself don't use it.
