Well SoE is just shifting one gear up, and are likely attempting to kill of the platt selling companies of who they can get money off!

In a way it is nothing "to new" and I kind of see it as step 2. We have brought it upon ourself, the day we allowed/supported & bought LON booster & starter packs for RL cash to obtain ingame items!

Imho that already was the start to RMT, sure it was less controlled and u had to still gamble on how many packs you needed before you could obtain ur item ...

Sucks big time!!!! RL$ should not be allowed to effect the gameplay ... fuck I would even pay 20$ monthly fee, if SoE would work harder to take off the platt farmers, seller & buyers!

FFS next thing you can buy is /godmode for 50$ ...

Stinks if it is true, hope SoE just adds a new suffix "buyer of platt" for peeps who do this shit, like when you go exile ... so i can avoid these peeps

Talk about destroying what attracts people to this type of game in the first place

I can't make my mind up if this is a good or bad thing.

The only reason I say that is because plat selling is so rampant now you'd be a fool to think at least a quarter of those you play with haven't at at one point traded plat. We are deluding ourselves if we think the integrity of the playing market or the value of the gear/cash other players have isn't already tainted by this.

I look at other players with hundreds of plat in the bank and deep down know there is no way on earth they have got that legitimately. They just aren't playing enough (or are smart enough) to have done so.

At least if it was legit and above board like this everyone would know for sure what is going on.

Then again it will be a very sorry day when this happens, kind of like the end of an era. You cannot blame SoE as this is purely down to other players around us and their willingness to cheat in such huge numbers.

you know what'd be awesome? if SOE introduced this to eq2, waited 2 maybe 3 months, then I.P. banned everyone who bought something. yea, wishful thinking i know, but still it would be awesome

What do I care? My kiddo plays Fiesta for cripes sakes and I happily forked out some RL cash so she could buy in game items.

You guys are all just dumb if you see this as some new gaming shake up. These have been in the works forever and most likely won't touch EQ2.

I think none of them have even played a real RMT game.

You all really do not get it. You already have as much RMT in EQ2 as your likely to get.

its called LON but its alot more expensive to get the uber items then it would be on a regular RMT game. GG

don't fool yourselves. LON is RMT as its finest, now make good on all your "I'm going to quit threats"?

There are dozens of "successful" MMO games that are funded entirely by RMT. The mechanic is being fought heavily in the western markets but truly believing this isn't going to make it's way over here is the equivalent of the people who thought World of Warcraft was going to fail.

I can't say this is anything less than forward thinking securing this market. Besides, who would you have running this? Corporations or a conglomerate of sweat shops run by Johnathan Yantis?

I would not be to optimistic about customer service of a conglomerate supplying/having ties with SOE.

For the rest i agree with you

You know, it's funny. All the people in this thread who are ready to embrace this as a "step forward" by SOE, are the same cocksuckers who called everyone who questioned SOE's hiring of that RMT site executive a while back "conspiracy theorist whackos".

Suck my dick.

Eventhough I am not rdy to accept this at all, at least i am not as close minded as some to bash it in advance.

At least I was as much against that move as any other was. Hiring someone who is used to not value EULA's will never do any good.

So your statement is rather full of it.
