Re: SOE Licenses 3rd Party RMT Company for In Game Virtual Property Sales
funny they locked and moved the thread that was in general discusion to move it to one the less visited part of their official forums.
i guess they dont want a new 70+pages thread about them failing again.

don't be stupid. then the game wouldnt have a goal and no one would play it.
The objective is to give items that make them want to play more.

I don't see this changing anything to SoE. Basically all it means is their Station-Exchange program is growing and they've got other companies signed on. If anything, what this does is absolutely nothing new.

Yeah I agree here. For all - Stop being paranoic and think for a second. People will be able to buy plat, items, etc... You can do it now too if you want, but it's just illegal. People will be able to buy/sell toons... Anyone can do it now even if they dont want to transfer their characters to SE server.
I dont understand why some ppl canceling their accounts because of this minor change.

If it is rolled out on all servers I don't think it is a minor change at all. The influx of off shore, and on shore, "farmers" could lead to more conflict with players, alter the functioning of the economy, and encourage more people to really cheat (using 3rd party apps) since there is real money to be made. We will have to wait and see I guess.

There are quite a few things that are illegal that take place all around us. Yet, you can bet your ass there would be an uproar, if say the US decided to legalize child prostitution, 'cuz it happens'.
Why? Because the majority of people view it as unethical, immoral, and want nothing to do with it. Even if it happens everyday.

I agree here as well.
This won't directly change anything at all in EQ2, but could well provide the basis for some future projects for SoE. Don't forget, they do more than just EQ2.

Honestly, you went too far with your comparison. Those 2 things has nothing to do with each other and you cant compare them. Tho I got your idea, and no I dont think they should do it just cuz it happens, but because there nothing wrong with it and they should mopolise that shit and stop loosing money to rmt sites. And yes I have nothing against other ppl buying phat lewtz for real cash. It doesnt affect me at all.
