This announcement does come at a shock... but I don't think there will be any real change in how things are done. Any server you play on, you can get as much plat as your wallet can afford, at any given time. There are many website that do this. Many many websites, for just about any MMO.
So, you can buy and sell plat in EQ2 now, and always could since T5. You could long before the station exchange came out. You can also buy and sell LON boosters for RL cash and get plat that way. Real money has always been a way to get plat in EQ2 always, and in every other game.

The bad part is, that sony is endorsing this, rather than taking a stand against it. It's easy.... every time they see a character below lvl 10 trading or mailling 10 plat or more to another character, they should mark that account for observation. If this happens on that same account like 2 more times, then warn them and Ban them.

That would probably never happen though, because money rules the world.

Personally I don't think it will change to much. The way the farmers have their way in our MMO will not increase or decrease anything. Inflation per spend dollar is allready to widely spread in EQ2.

I can go around spouting my opinion (and have) regarding these transactions coming to EQ2 specifically. If it touches EQ2 on the live servers, I quit. Period. I feel no need to be dramatic about it.

SOE taking advantage of RMT markets in new productions is not only wise but likely welcome because as I said, they are trying to tap into the overseas market and you got to provide the services they want.

And to the assfuck Snark..This has nothing to do with my community site. I don't need to suck SOE's ass because they don't pay me. My only allegiance is to the players who use my site. I have no personal preference for RMT, I was stating why it was done and why it made sense leaving my own emotional pity party out of it.

Dammit all. I should remember to stop that sense making and just burn the fucking witches.

Now, do you get it? Nothing is changing. You people are fucking morons who think anything is changing. This is just the growth of Station-Exchange into a larger partnership with other corporations who realize they should do the same. It's called expansion, and SOE is realizing the time to do it is NOW, not later.

i cant be the only one who sees the irony

a lot of us play a game as an escape from realworld bullshit. and now that bullshit will permeate the games we play.

the 'well-to-do' folks with money to burn will fight better, look better and enjoy an overall 'better' experience in gamelife. while those of lesser incomes will be secondhand.

its called 'Fantasy' because its NOT supposed to be real...

but from the looks of it, those days might be numbered.

Legit players are a dying breed. The fun these days in accumulating stuff, not earning it. MMOGs are becoming nothing more than virtual Barbie dolls.
