I run from the same .exe quite well. There's no reason to duplicate your EQ2 folder.

Duplicating the runtime files doubles the burden on the Windows in-memory file cache.

You also might want to try forcing each game to a separate core of your CPU. I didn't dual box on the same machine often (that's what the laptop is for!), but doing that improved performance.

Also, check your used space on your C: drive, and make sure you're not running out of page/swap space.

I ran three for quite a while on an 805D (OC to 3.6) with 2GB and an NVidia 7600GT under XP. I had to cut the resolution on the two windows I wasn't paying attention to since the card only had 256MB.
