I would like to see beastlords, but not with the way the game currently is. 25 classes = no thanks.

They seriously need to consolidate and tweak classes. The whole good/evil balance BS is preventing classes from being what they were in EQ (what they're supposed to be in eq2)

24 classes is way too many considering theres really only about 10-15 of them, most classes have the same exact spells just named different things as someone else, with 3 or 4 unique spells which could easily be spec-related or combined if the classes were consolidated.

MAYBE, maybe if they merge all the classes they can add more. But for now? Another 'single' class would completely throw everything off balance without adding 2 of them (one evil, one good). However, that would still throw off the archetype structure!

They were considered underpowered for a long time. SOE gave them Spiritual Purity (a mana regen spell, for those that didn't play EQ1) to make them a more desirable class. They were only the third class to get a castable buff like that. That was some serious lovin', back in the day. Hardly the thing you'd give to a 'mistake' class.

What the fuck game did you play? Not EQLive. I rolled a BL on day one of Luclin and they were overpowered then. They still are if I'm not mistaken. I still have my 54 BL, that I soloed and duoed with a Shammy EASILY. Underpowered my ass.

The thing that I find amazing is how the big thing about RoK was going to be the epics, yet they are still not in the game, and won't be til at least the next live update. It is bad when an unfinished game is using things such as epics as a sales pitch to get in some extra cash while the promised thing is not delivered upon release and the players have to endure 2-3+ months of extremely shitty implementation of everything. God I love EQ2.

So you think they were overpowered because you could solo some and duo with the single best partner class for a melee class all the way to the lofty heights of level 54?

BL's were a decent solo class, but magicians could solo harder stuff faster. Necromancers were in a different league entirely.

Shamans were an awesome partner class for a melee. Great melee buffs, slow, heals, slow... I'm sure it seemed like a great combination. I assume you must think monks are transcendent deities if you're judging EQ1 class balance by how well they partner with a shaman. Grats you on partnering with a class that made all of your spells useless.

BLs were OK to have in a group. They had slow. Not the best slow, but shamans were always hard to find and a slower was required after PoP. If you already had a slower you'd never pick a beastlord for your group. Their DPS just wasn't good enough. In raids they just didn't have anything to offer. Subpar DPS compared to the other DPS classes. You already had a monk to loot the mnk/bst crap. The pet was way too big. You already had a shaman for slows.

That's why they got Spiritual Purity.
