It should require a degree of strategy that has been mostly stripped from the mechanics in general. While that is not a problem unique to RoK, these mobs are even more excessively overbuffed than those in the past.... so much so that solo mobs have become overwhelmingly powerful (these particular mobs are unique to the expansion).

want to see an example of an overbuffed mob? Ask any Lv.80 player on a PvP server about Charmed Mobs.
Ever see a non-Raid mob one-shot a player for 14,000 damage melee attack? Or how about a non-raid mob 3-shotting a player with their spell hitting for 4,000 each?
There are so many shithole problems with EQ2 right now there's days I just don't want to log in, and I'm sure there are a lot of other players that feel the same way. It could be a really great game, RoK could have been a really great expansion.. but all I have seen from the new people that have been brought in is shortcuts.
I use to design shit for an MMO, it took me a month alone to come up with a rough design for character skills & abilities. that's just the ground work, mostly conceptual with little testing. Talking about another month-2 at least of testing to make sure there's no large flaws such as game breakers. Not to mention the implementation into the actual game itself which was and still is live, that's another month of testing at least. And this is for a game that is not near as complex or graphic intensive as EQ2.
So them throwing together an expansion in about 10months reeks of shortcuts taken.. which aren't always bad. But from what I have seen in RoK, too many shortcuts were taken and too much of a rush was put on it to get it out by the holiday season.
Anyways, i've said my piece and will leave you all to it.
