basically Probably have the Claymore and SoD and MoA as prereq before you can even start the epic quest.
then it will turn into the claymore .... Have 15-20 quests in Karnors. Then move on to another 15-20 quests in Chardok. Then you will have to do 4-5 quests in each instance ... get the legendary version
then probably have to "flag" (kill the final boss) every instance raid zone from Courts to VP.
woohoo sounds more like Tedium weapon quest than an epic quest.

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
I actually WANT the Peacock Club to be a prerequisite. Just so I can get my guild to do the fucking thing. Would suck for the rest of you though.

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
It's wishful thinking to hope they can come up with unique quests for each class like they did in EQ1. But I'm going to hang on to that hope until the inevitable disappointment.
It would be really nice to have individual steps for each class so every guild member requires the help of their whole guild to get their reward - that way when you have a guild full of epic weapons you know you've really put some work into it.
The pre-x4 steps can be linked, easy, boring, etc, I don't care - just make the x4 stuff really cool plskthx!

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
However the quests end up, I'd like it if they found the people who wrote the storylines for the original EQ1 Epics to recreate new storylines for the EQ2 ones. It was a little hit and miss, but a couple of the storylines were really really good (Shadowknight storyline was great).
The best (and worst) part of the EQ1 Epics was that they required guild assistance. It'd be nice to have another reason to bring the raid force ... I think.
I would like each epic to be close in difficulty (Freebringer and Cleric Epic versus Magician and Warrior for example).
The idea about three separate quest lines (solo/heroic/raid) is good. If that can't happen, I wouldn't mind SOE placing parts of the finished epic in T3-T4 like Soulfire.
Mixing in some old questlines (Godking, To Speak As A Dragon, Claymore, Soulfire, etc) and adding in higher level versions might not be too bad. Hopefully folks who have completed those parts will get some kind of credit towards the epic.

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
I don't know, but it would involve really fast poodle mounts, messenger pigeons, dancing badgers, and ice cream.
O, and the epic weapon would be an axe, not a dumb sword. And other class items. And a shield. All of these items summon a singing burynai badger when equipped, and there's no way to cancel it.
... I like methulah's idea.

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
Two things about the epic questline.
First i never understood , why it has to be a weapon. In the Fantasy Stories usually Mages Epic Items are Amuletts,Necklaces,Rings e g.
In the Asian Mythologie , whts closests to epic items, the best items Monks, Nin jas e g can get are mythical Gloves. One that heals and absorbs dmg, the other one has the power of the moon.
Basing on that i would have wanted to see rather Class Epic Items than Epic Weapons. That would have given Devs the chance of a more class specialised questline.
You also could use more slots like charm or cloak. Assasines Epic Item e g Cloak of Shadows or Fury Cloak of Storms.
Some classes like zerk, axe, or ranger , bow, should have a epic weapon.
Secondary a powerfull item like that should be attached to a god to get it. And heres the deal during the questline you may have to follow a god from the other Site, Guardian and Zerk from Queynos have to follow rallos zek for their epic weapon, which makes you neutral to your city. Which means you cant get any blessings and miracles from your god and you cant buy stuff from the city merchant.

Re: If you were to design the epic weapon quest
You are aware that there are servers where your allignment actually matters right? Having to swap allignments is a VERY. BAD. IDEA.
